Just when we thought we couldn’t wait any longer, they make us wait. What a bad PR move. I like how they tried to fix it by saying that it would make the wait between the 6th and 7th movies shorter. What absolute crap.

The sixth HP movie was the carrot I waved in front of my 10 and 12 year olds to encourage them to finish reading the HP series this summer(You can’t see the movie if you haven’t read it). Now I’ll have to find something else for a reward, while giving my kids a lesson on corporate greed and franchises that don’t deliver when promised.

This is ludicrous! Does Warner Brothers actually believe they will get more money during the summer? I honestly believe they are afraid to be overshadowed by Twilight, and if that is the case, they are being idiots!

  • Crystal

There have been 5 movies so far-and have done extraordinarily well in terms of making money. The fans, myself very much included, have faithfully turn out in big numbers to see the films. To suddenly move the movie back eight months is crazy, just for a few extra ticket sales. Please reverse this decision. This isn’t the proper way to treat the fans that made this film franchise popular.

I was really looking forward to the movie in the fall. I cannot believe you would push it back to next summer. That is a really stupid move.

I am very, very disappointed in WB. I loved all of their movies, and to pull this stunt is outrageous. Sad thing is, of course we’re gonna rush to the theaters when it comes out, but the fact that WB knows that we will & abusing this is annoying me. And I know its against the law, but if/when the movie gets out on internet we’ll all be content. Moral of THIS story: MONEY=GREED, which equals ANGRY HARRY POTTER FANS :(

    Also forgot to add:
It would make sense for fans to wait a bit longer for the last two movies to come out-considering the writer’s strike and all but to make them wait 8 months for a movie that’s basically completed is outrageous.

But I don’t want to wait until July… I already waited over a year already. I can’t believe they would do this to us… :(

I must say that I am extremely disappointed. I’ve had a count down to November 21 since last year!!! This is ridiculous! Now I have to wait another 8 months and then what, have the last two movies pushed back another 8 months too?? I am very very disappointed. What, because The Dark Knight did so well they now need the Harry Potter money next year.. ok fine then release the movie in the begining of 2009, not in July!!! I’m not only disappointed I am angry too. WB you made a bad choice.. it’s just not fair!

This is total crap….They may think that we can not do anything about it….and maybe we can’t, but I am really curious to see what Jo and Yates as well as the actors are going to say in response to this because it seems according to a lot of posts that most everyone except the execs were left out of the decision. I really hope the big names that have some weight in comparison to Warner Bros at least voice their displeasure with WB’s greedy decision.

I think WB is making a major mistake it just doesnt make sense to push the movie all the way back to July thats insane! An im not just saying that because im a fan and i want to see the movie soon but having it be released in novemeber seems perfect because it will be released on dvd just in time for the holidays. Thats why i thought they did that in the first place cause that makes sense. Tell me what fan would not ask for that dvd as a christmas gift?! Talk about bringing in money it would be off the charts. An when it comes down to it isnt that the main goal?! Now im not saying people still wouldnt buy the dvd in the summer they would be crazy not too but i believe having it be released in november is the better move.

they aren’t just scared of dogs, they’re scared of vampires.
we’ve dealt with the split of deathly hallows- paying twice as much to see one movie- but they can’t expect us to bear with them through every hurdle they wish to throw at us.
