The aftershocks from Warner Bros.’ decision to move the release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are still being felt throughout Hollywood. Twentieth Century Fox announced today that it has moved its Baz Luhrmann-directed epic Australia from Nov. 14 to the more preferable Nov. 26, the Wednesday before the Thanksgiving holiday. The movie thus gets out of the way of Sony’s James Bond flick Quantum of Solace, which bows on Nov. 14, and will play into the long holiday weekend — a perfect time, it seems to us, for a sweeping Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman romance set in the outback of Australia. The film’s only major Nov. 26 competition will be Transporter 3 and Viggo Mortensen’s post-apocalyptic The Road.

The sensibility of a fallen desire.
The long vigils
of the night fall
on the ground
with a fine
sensibility, and
even that sunshine
invites me to cry
near the sound
of a finger: I dream
you my dear,
I remember your
fate.

“More preferable”? I know it’s a blog, but come on Nicole…
Oh my. Twilight and now Australia. What has Hollywood come to?!
I can’t wait to see ” Hugh Jackman’s Australia” whenever it comes out. It looks great and Hugh is hot, hot, hot!
I just heard about a contest on hautelook.com. People can enter to win their own private screening of the new movie Australia in any city in America. Fox (who produced the movie) will rent out a theater and host a private screening for the winner and 50 of their closest friends. I just joined the site to enter the contest!
Can’t wait to see the movie with Nicole. Live in Melbourne and the last movie I went to was Castaway with Tom Hanks. As you may have guessed, not a big movie fan.
