i was horrified when they got rid of Catherine and i knew any new director would be crap but THIS GUY? SERIOUSLY? he ruined Golden Compass and although i guess i see the silver lining to the good animal effects, it doesnt matter if the story is twisted and turned and warped into a emotionsless and fake money making machine instead of the loving and real movie that Twilight was. i know some people complained about Twilight not being what they expected but I loved it, it was so beyond amazing. so if those people think TWILIGHT sucked then i dont know what they will do for new moon. im so friggen scared now. like there were a few changes in twilight and a few things out of order but it wasnt anything major, it just was what had to be done to make the movie. now we have this guy making new moon..like omg i just cant picture our indie cast working with this main stream director. like no, it just isnt going to work. im sure hes a nice guy and all but as a director, no. not our beloved NM.
I will not go see New Moon…I am sick of STUPID MEN in Hollywood. They will completely F*CK UP these beloved books, simply to bring in more MONEY. I’ll stick to reading my books, and remember the series that way. I’ll waste no money – and I have spent over $100 on Twilight…in order to see an IMPROVED SEQUEL. F*cking Hollywood greedy bastards.
I think he will do a wonderful job. All you people out there in hater-land… just stop hating until there is SOMETHING there to actually hate. Give the guy his shot.
I agree with Ernesto. All this rushing by Summit will end up biting them in the ass. They are still trying to be stingy with the budget also. I shudder to think at how cheap the werewolf effects are going to look if they dont put some time and effort and MONEY into them.
This is what happens when all these Twilight fans go to see the movie numerous times. I read the books, and saw the movie and knew it wasn’t good. I wasn’t about to pay to see it again. Summitt saw how much money this movie made, with what little money they made it with, and saw more dollar signs. The fans should of waited til it came out on DVD to keep watching it over and over again. You have only yourselves to blame!
Ok..the Golden Compass was not a bad movie. It was actually a pretty good movie. The problem was the big wigs made the decision to stray away from the book b/c of all the religious fanatics. I think Weitz will do a better job as far as special effects go, and will give the movie an overall better look. He wouldn’t be my first choice, but I think he’ll be better than Catherine
UGGGGGGGGGG!! I thought the direction in Twilight was really good and sophisticated. Now they’re getting rid of cathrine!?!?! so annoying! I liked golden compass but it didnt stick to the book at all… still pissed about getting rid of cathrine…

As long as the movie is still some what the same I’m fine. If it completely different and messes stuff up then eh.
If Chris is smart, he’ll consult STEPHENIE along the way, as well as Rob and Kristen. I think it will be great if he does that. We’ll just have to wait and see.
*shudders.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS CHRIS WEITZ YOU BETTER NOT F*** THIS UP. OR ELSE ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE. SERIOUSLY.
as a grandma, I’ve seen plenty of big shots getting involved and fudge things up. These are great books, with VERY emotional feelings. And they NEED to make this come across, between ed/bella. If they don’t give the fans what they want this time, I’ll bet fans won’t be going to a 3rd.
he has to do good!!! this is my favorite book of the saga!!! im not sure if i should be
or
I’m relieved. “Twilight” was mediocre. “About a Boy” was brilliant. Hopefully, he can bring some of that much needed magic to “New Moon”
THANK GOD. The first movie was horrible. I hope his directing skills can do the book some justice.
