Sundance: 'Brief Interviews' director John Krasinski

As a student at Brown University in 2000, Office star John Krasinski did a staged adaptation of late author David Foster Wallace’s short story collection Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. That performance solidified his desire to be an actor, and he’s spent the last eight years adapting the book into a movie, finally seeing it premiere in competition here at Sundance on Monday. Starring Julianne Nicholson as a grad student studying the male psyche and a vast collection of dudes — Chris Meloni, Death Cab for Cutie lead singer Ben Gibbard, SNL‘s Will Forte — delivering monologues taken directly from Wallace’s book, the project would be a risky debut for any first-time filmmaker, but the always-charming Krasinski appears to be holding himself together quite admirably. And hey, EW Office fans: Stay tuned until the end of the three-part video for a special shout-out, just for you!

I really want to see this. Come on, Big Execs at Sundance!
Plus, John Krasinski seems like such a sweet, earnest guy. All the best after the amazing Office finally ends.

I love this guy, always seem genuine and sincere and real…its great that he had something he is passionate about (or at the very least something to distract him from the 8 year disaster we just endured). all the best John!
