I’ve seen all 5 nominated films. Slumdog Millionare is not the best ot the lot. I hope this year an American film about American people finally sees its way to the grande prize. My vote – “Benjamin Button” followed by “Milk”.
I went to an Indian Import store (“India Music & Boutique”) and asked for a copy of “Slumdog Millionaire.” I was told by “Mohan,” the storekeeper, that he had a copy directly from Fox Searchlight Pictures and he would let me have it for a discount price. I still have the receipt. It was in the original package. I’m on a limited income, so I thought it would be a good idea. I found out that the copy I purchased was not an actual copy from Fox Searchlight Pictures, but, rather, a “rip & burn.” When I opened it, it was copied on a Sony disc.
