can’t carry = have essentially? I don’t think they thought it was an actual object.
For all the Tyler Perry haters out there.. you guys do realize that his films are targeted at BLACK audiences right? There is humor in there that is more cultural and pertains more to African-Americans than to other people. So, the people who go see the movies are those people and WE find it funny. You don’t have to like it, but that doesn’t mean that the audience it was targeted to doesn’t.
One thing people fail to realize is that we, black people, tend to latch onto anything thats black, just because it is black, regardless of how stupid it is, or how stupid it makes us look. Thats not to say Tyler Perry is all that bad, especially considerin how we fare in other situations like reality television, i.e flavor of love and whatnot.
The point is, our standards are drastically low for whatever reason, and we have few saving graces, like will smith, who will challenge us to think outside the box…
“Why Did I Get Married” is a pretty decent film, individual performances were very good in it. Jill Scott was amazing, and that other lady who is like a female Eddie Murphy or Wanda Sykes, the real thin one, she was hilarious! I like his flicks for being what they are too – something different. Plus anyone w/ guts to name a movie “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” gets kudos from me!! GO TYLER.
Fallon…the expression uses the word “have” not “carry”. That’s all that I was trying to point out. For example, he/she does not have a moral compass. Meaning the inherent nature of his/her personality lacks a sense of morality. You would never say he/she does not “carry” a moral compass, not has anyone every phrased that figure of speech using the word “carry”.
