smryan, there is no sex in the entire series, lol. Only small references in the last book.

For the record, there is a difference between liking/disliking something and thinking it sucks. I happen to like this series, despite the fact that the writing couldn’t be much worse. Twilight isn’t a very good series, but it has enough charm and whimsy to make it enjoyable despite its shoddy craftsmanship.

This bit of news it that big of a deal to me. Since I was a hp fan, I have seen four different directers point of views!!!

Maybe Catherine will come back for Eclipse. That would be interesting. Of course I totally agree with all the earlier posts that suggested Peter Jackson. Just imagine what he could do with this story, especially the big showdown at the end. One can dream….

i think catherine was good, its just that the screenplay is as close to the book as all the other offers for it. it’s not catherine’s fault Twilight wasnt close to the book, she tried to make it work and for that i give her a pat on the shoulder. She made the characters real as best she could. For eclipse, i can only hope they’ll choose someone good, and for the record LOTR is still my most loved saga of all time. Jackson’s a good choice

…..things would be a lot easier if they just filmed back to back….

  • claire

i hope they get a good replacement
    maybe catherine can come back:D
i think catherine was good its the script that wasnt that good and she did a great job with what she had

ugh i hate how they have to keep switching the directors… i liked this new one and i think that he would do good and i don’t think that they need a new one. it would be so much easier if they did it back to back…..

Hopefully Chris can stay. I think he’s going to take New Moon to a whole new level and would really hate to loose him for Eclipse

FYI- Peter Jackson has 6 movies in the works from 2009 until 2012. Check it out at imdb.com So, it looks unlikely he’ll be able to do it. Plus,
he usually works big budget. Is Summitt ready for big budget? Anyone?

  • megC

The picture they posted with the headline makes it look like Chris is going to jail…awful orange shirt, arms up in the air… Did anyone else leap to this conclusion at first? Now I just feel silly, of course.

Perhaps we can find an even better director for eclipse. Start brainstorming: Alfonso Cuaron, Danny Boyle, Steven Spielberg, Judd Apatow. THINK PEOPLE!

  • Ian

Are people actually suggesting Peter Jackson or James Cameron for Ecplise and/or Breaking Dawn? They wouldn’t come within a mile of this series, they’re far too prolific for this kind of crap.

  • dinsdale

To Ian: Prolific means to produce great quantities of something, so I have no idea what the hell you mean. It is too sad that Summit is pushing production so hard. I mean, they haven’t even seen whether weitz is worth juggling the schedule for. On the other hand, these movies are technically intensive, so there is quite a lot of preproduction work. Still it seems sill to have that kind of overlap. Maybe Weitz just doesn’t want to be bound to the series for that long a period.
