i think the fact it is also on IMAX will add to the totals along with a thursday opening.
Seeing it Tonight. And even thou i love the graphic novel, It is a movie.
just enjoy it for what it is. a MOVIE.
and i love the reports of parents getting angry that they took their kids to the movie thinking it is family friendly heroes.
Horrid movie.
162 minutes
17 minutes of plot (10%)
30 minutes of waiting for anything to happen (20%)
the other 70% was evenly split between
gratuitus violence and Softcore sex.
Should be NC-17 not R.
The Build up was great and I think with the proper scripting the actor and character Rorschach would fit well fighting heath ledger as the joker.
Other then that one shining star, I would have prefered sitting in a doctors waiting room.
Ali G., which is its own right, is a lame character. Feel free to wear it. You will only be able to wear till 2012, anyway. One term.
Wow. Some people really don’t get this movie. Not to be an elitist, but the intelligent people whose opinions I respect all seem to love this film, and those with the attention span of a ferret give it a resounding ‘meh’.
“those with the attention span of a ferret give it a resounding ‘meh’.”
Far from a ferrit, I was in Dances with Wolves when there were 8 others in the theater before it became a hit.
I do admit I was not a watchman reader though you should not have to be to fully enjoy a movie. It should stand on it’s own.
I have read comics during the rise of the graphic novels, the seperate line of publications that broke away from following the “comics code”
In batman the dark night, though not nearly as dark or extreme as the books, You learned the new flavor of the joker. It took you from confusion over the character to in the end a much deeper understanding of both characters.
Watchmen (the movie)is more like the legend of Sisyphus.
Just the same, X-Men the movie thoug it stands on it’s own is lacking any of the real teeth and emotions.
Iron Man shines next to it, a sad statement to byrne’s better work.
35% sex, 35% graphic violence do not a movie make.
“now watching.”
Thank you, Tom, for proving my point.
1)Watchmen- $82 million
2)Slumdog Millonaire- $10 million
3)Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes To Jail- $8 million
4)Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience- $7 million
5)Taken- $6.5 million
All I have to say is that Watchmen is going to dominate!
Watchmen is good and Malin Akerman is so hot:

I loved the graphic novel, I like the movie up until the whack ass ending. Based on all the watchmen novels I’ve seen people reading on the subway and the numerous amount of morons sitting next to me at the IMAX, I can tell you that they were many more non-fan boys in the theater. Simply put it will be a huge hit.
Saw it last night, good movie,3 stars.theater was half empty!Might hit around 40 million.
