i didn’t expect to like watchmen as much as i did! it was really great, but also really violent. my favorite characters were rorsharch, and dan. i think that patrick wilson may be my new crush, lol. when rorsharch took off his mask, me and my friend were thinking, “hugh laurie?” strangely enough, i knew when to look away at the gross parts with this being my first time seeing the movie. i never heard of watchmen before the movie came out, but i didn’t find it tedious. i agree that it could have moved along a little faster, like the dark knight did(and the dark knight is about as long as watchmen i think), but watchmen was still pretty good! but do not take young kids to see it. someone brought their young kid, and after watching the movie, i don’t think it’s appropriate for young kids at all. hopefully the parent explained certain scenes to their young kid. i also really liked the little guy who was in the jail. he was funny when he said “out of my way!” lol. this is definitely worth seeing if you like superhero movies and some people, like myself might still like it even if you’re not really into superhero stuff.

I’m torn. I want the movie to do well – it is easily the best movie I’ve seen in the last 5 years (those who left before it ended obviously weren’t of the film’s intended demographic. But if it does too good, Warners apparently wants to do a sequel which would be a horrific idea. This is not supposed to be the start of a franchise. Just let it do well enough to be honorable and ensure the directors edit version comes on DVD.

Sorry everybody, this is the worst film of the year hands down. Possibly one of the worst films ever made. At least Freddy got Fingered was entertaining. Boring story, boring plot. No action. Plus a lot of gratuitous violence and unecessary details that do not support the film. The movie was unmotivated so anything anyone did just didn’t make sense. God this movie sucked. Zack Snyder should be shot and never allowed to make movies again. Your fervor for aesthetics is awesome, but you’re forgetting to make a story, an actual story. The comic had a story. How you you f*** that up, retard? I hope you all save your money and don’t see it. It’s so disappointing too, I was really looking forward to seeing this film. I’ve never reviewed a film before today, but I had to warn everyone how awful this garbage was. Please Hollywood, start being good again! Try harder. You’re going to make me never want to watch a movie again it you continue release unreleasable material!

I thought it was very good. I think the time limit was reasonable, it wasn’t rushed and shitty like twilight. Zack stayed true to the comic and it was very good. I loved it and so far it’s the best movie I’ve seen for the new year. I just hope there isn’t a sequel. They’re not promised to be as successful as the first.

I thought the movie was awesome. One of the best comic book movies I have ever seen. You probably will not enjoy this film if you did not read the comic book. So if you are complaining about how confusing and stupid the movie is, I suggest you crack a book. The movie was great.

“Disappointed”, I find it interesting that you accuse me of over-hyping when I basically state people looking for mindless entertainment should stay home. If I were blindly hyping it, I’d say it’s a perfect film for everyone. It’s not, and I clearly said it’s not for everyone.
It’s also amusing that I must be a fanboy because I enjoyed it, especially considering many fans of the original material have been disappointed with this adaptation. Perhaps you’re the fanboy?

It is obvious that a lot of the people who dislike this movie were expecting another Rah-Rah superhero movie like “X-Men”, instead of a deconstruction of the genre. Watchmen is to comic book movies what Unforgiven was to the western. There are no pure good and evil characters, only grey ones.

    Very well-put, R.

This movie can be summed up in a single word…wow! I left the theater upset that Watchmen took 3 hours of my life that I won’t get back. It was arguably the worst movie I have seen in years. I know all of the pretentious nerds who own Watchmen sheets and dolls will continue to delude themselves by saying that the film is “mature”,”edgy” or, my favorite, “genius.” I suppose it could be that I have a life outside of a comic collection and don’t live with my parents. Anyhow, enough about the sad grown up children who try to say that any dissenter is uneducated and uninformed…Let’s get to the movie. It was PAINFULLY slow. I found that the characters were poorly developed. I left knowing the same amount about them as I did when I went in…nothing. In typical Snyder fashion, every action sequence was in slo-mo…mix it up a bit, guy. The dialogue was laughable. It seemed like a sad attempt at film noir, but the Maltese Falcon, it weren’t. Nerds unite! and quit hyping this awful movie. D-

Watchmen was the worst movie I have ever seen!! No attempt at a decent story. I was still waiting for the movie to start after an hour. I found the violence toward women completely unacceptable. The shooting of a pregnant woman??? Really??? Just totally unacceptable to be shown on a movie screen. A woman almost raped? Just disgusting. The sex scene in the middle? Completely childish. This movie was NOT entertaining. This movie lacked any of the art and meaning that 300 had. Boring, self indulgent nonsense. If you aren’t a 20-24 year old male that is into comics, this movie is not for you.

Beyond visually, Watchmen was a fantastic deconstruction of the superhero genre. poetic at times, through various character dialogue ,and high-octane action along with stunning visuals at others, this film was and is an overall achievment. Honestly, i expected it to be from the start, what with Zach Snyder’s previous film 300. In addition, the ending may have made some (me included) feel that no actual ‘retribution’ occured, but nevertheless, leaves us with a completely different, and orignial ending. highly suggested viewing material!

what’s with using the word retard. if you don’t like a movie or a person that doesn’t mean you need to call them retarded. It’s just wrong.
