Actually saw Ebert gave Knowing four stars, says it’s one of the best sci-fi movies he’s ever seen. Might be able to carry some weight and help it break through more.
Knowing: 23 Million
Duplicity: 22 Million
I Love You, Man: 20 Million
Witch Mountain: 15 Million
Watchmen: 8 Million
Hmm. I dunno but nothing seems to jump out at you this weekend. KNOWING looks interesting and I love you man looks like it might be fun. Duplicity looks pretty damn boring and im sorry but Witch Mountain was crap. The cheesy 70′s disney flicks didnt need a remake starring the rock.
As for the morons who are complaining about Watchmen. I don’t see how it is considered a flop already :
BATMAN BEGINS PG13 Budget 150 mil Opening wk 48 mil
Superman Returns PG budget 209 mil Opening wk 52 mil
Incredible Hulk PG13 Budget 150 mil Opening Wk 55 mil
Watchmen had a budget of 120 mil and grossed 55 mil with an R rating and a 3 hour running time. Not too bad.
I thought it was great, Love how it pissed off and grossed out all the conservative morons.
1) I Love You, Man- $25 million
2) Duplicity- $17 million
3) Race To Witch Mountain- $15 million
4) Knowing- $13 million
5) Watchmen- $7 million
I Love You, Man: 26 mil
Duplicity: 22 mil
Race to Witch Mountain: 16 mil
Knowing: 10 mil
Watchmen: 8 mil
Oops…judging by “Knowing”s Friday numbers, I sure botched that one!
