this movie is so bad that I overheard a 5 year-old child sitting behind me sadly ask her father only 15 minutes into the movie… “daddy, how long do we have to watch this”. for those of us who stayed, it was very painful. the “icey” silence in this sold out texas theater during the failed jokes only magnified the fact in 3D that Dreamworks stole $58.2 million from struggling moviegoers. Katzenberg “madoff” with our money.
Right there with you.
There were very few scenes in this movie that had that (pop out of the screen) 3-D effect. When you put on the 3-D glasses, it’s like watching a movie with sunglasses on…everything is a shade darker. Hardly anyone in the theater laughed, said oooh or ahhh. It was very quiet…until some kid started crying and asked to go home. I liked the characters and how much detail was put into the scenes. I didn’t like the story. I wasn’t sure if this was a movie for kids or young adults. I know my friend took their kids because it’s an animated film. They were all disappointed too.
Its always amusing listening to ppl on message boards who trumpet their own superiority by calling wide swaths of people stupid…people who are actually intelligent don’t need to do that.
That said, Monsters vs Aliens was cute, but not great. I think the 3D and the action improved it some. I would personally think a B- would probably be appropriate. I couldn’t quite put my finger on why it just didn’t quite gel, but it did feel like it dragged some in places.
I must have been watching a different movie than everybody else here. I loved it, my 6yo kid wants to see it again. Everybody in the theater laughed and even applauded at the end credits.
Weird.
That movie looks stupid! I’m upset that it’s the #1! WHAT IDIOT SAW MONSTERS?
Let’s hope “Hannah Montana” doesn’t go this high, or worse, higher. Little girls have powerful impacts. O.O
