reading these comments are painful to my brain.

With the proper angels, this movie could slide into the PG13 slot. The challenge is really getting Renesmee right.

Racy sex, hmmmm. Did you read the book? Seriously, Meyers waits until the characters are MARRIED before she even goes there. If the film makers get creative, they could make those scenes beautiful without compromising the book’s (and Meyers’) integrity. By doing so, can also show teens how serious sex is and why it is wise to wait for the ultimate commitment before engaging in it. No need for an “R” rating, just film makers willing to stay true to Meyers’ original vision.

I understand about the birth but there are many movies that have birth and shows and are still PG-13 and plus dont come out with the excuse of “racy sex” because everyone that read Breaking Dawn knows that it dosen’t explain how it happened, all we know is that 1.Bella and Edward went for the midnight swin and then she woke up and we figured they had sex and 2.when they went to “burn calories” ok yeah Bella ment by having sex but again, it dosen’t explain how it happened!! So there is not reason for ANYONE to come out with the excuse of “racy freaking sex!!”
Now there is a problem for making Breaking Dawn, and that is Renesmee, how can they make a baby look newborn and talk? But they have computers they can figure it out.

I do believe that BD should be made into a movie. It finishes Mrs. Meyers series, as far as pg 13 or R why not compromise and list it pg 14 like they do with tv shows. BD is closer to Forever Dawn which was the original sequal to Twilight, in which Bella does get married, does become a vampire and does have problems with the Volturi. Above all these reasons though it gives us our resolution. People might not have liked how the book turned out but, Mrs. Meyers does not like a lot of violence because of her faith and we should all understand that. Mrs. Rosenburg should have been let go after Twilight, her take on the book was so out of character for the most part that I was suprised they actually made the first movie based on her script. I saw the movie first then read the book so thats why I added that last bit.

since when did this become just for teenagers?? i dont mind if breaking dawn gets an R rating. what i do mind is that screewriter is writing all the scripts, and judging from the first movie, she’s not very good. i dont linke that twilight has become a teenage only club, its for everyone and should be geared for all viewers.

I think that Breaking Dawn should DEFINITELY become a movie. It would totally mess up the series. People who dont read the books will not get the full story. It will be a great movie…as for the rating…make it R it doesnt matter. In the book they didnt go into full detail on the sex scenes…and the birth, well they can do something a bit different. Instead of showing the gruesome parts, make it in Bella’s vision…let her have little flashes of what is going on while she is burning. It wouldnt be so hard to get around those parts of the book. The hard part would be Renesmee…but surely with all the technology out there they can come up with something.

I loved seeing my favorite characters brought to life in the first movie and will be very disappointed if they dont follow through with the whole series. Dont the movie makers get paid the big bucks to be creative? Come on people do what you get paid for.

  • Connie

I agree, Charles. I think Meyers was so excited to see her book being brought to life that she let Rosenberg run the show and didn’t know to fight harder to keep it truer to the book. Some of the Harry Potter movies are almost three hours long and stay close to the overall timeline and themes in the books. Why should the Twilight saga be any different?

i thinking breaking dawn the movie would suck SO bad! but i really do want to see “racy sex scenes” with Rob.. but only if they make it so that it’s easy to do some vid manip once it comes out on DVD to block out kristen.

Who copy edits this stuff? “But not so fast, says Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, whose still working on her script for Eclipse…” Spot the spelling error, please.

  • Michael

Seriously, do you people really want to watch three more movies where Kristen Stewart emotes by breathing before every word and “chagh” and eye rolling are settled for as dialog? I guess so.

  • SJ

Breaking Dawn will never have an R rating, get real people!
