Some big predictions for Star Trek, but I don’t think it will have _that_ big a weekend. It will perform like Batman Begins, about a 50 million opening weekend (which is what the studio expects) and good legs, which won’t be bad for a reboot of a franchise that combusted. However, its inevitable sequel will be massive.

That sucks for Battle for Terra. I thought kids would watch anything. (I guess it helps if there were actually ads for the movie)

I don’t know why everyone thinks that Star Trek is going to Open Big. Sci Fi movies generally don’t do that great at the Box Office unless they have a superhero in them. Also, past Star Trek films never had great openings, why should this one be any different? Fact, is your average person thinks sci fi and Star Trek is weird.

Also, I saw the Star Trek clip of new Kirk running from the creatures in the snow and how many times are we going to see the same Predator mouth cgi monster design? Just saw the same thing in King Kong with the giant bugs, it was used in Pirates of the Caribbean and has been used in countless tv shows including Dr. Who.

When x-men first came out, I wasnt digging Jackman as wolverine, I mean c’mon, wolverine is like 5’3″ in the books. Thats the point of the name…wolverine…a small ferocious animal that will attack anything with little to no provokation. Over the years he has grown on me though, i hope origins isnt as weak as the trailers look, by comparison, the star trek, terminator, transformers, and even (vomits a little in own mouth)GI JOE previews look to be vastly superior. This will be the first x-men movie I wont be seeing at the theater.

I grew up watching old re-runs of Star Trek. I haven’t watched for several years, but I must say that after seeing the trailer it was easily one of the top three movies I want to see opening weekend. Star Trek, Transformers and Harry Potter. Can’t wait, there’s lots of other good movies out there too!

I was truly suprised to find myself stoked about the new Star trek movie, being that they have historically never really kicked as much ass as even the crappiest of star wars films( episode 2 anybody?)and as for TV series only The next generation ever interested me. Although the original series admittedly covered the whole space exploration b4 anybody else.
