David Fincher is in early talks to direct Aaron Sorkin’s Facebook script for Sony Pictures. Sources tell EW that producers are very high on securing the acclaimed director’s involvement on the project, which centers on the drama behind the Harvard dorm room creation of Facebook by founder Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates. Producers Scott Rudin, Mike DeLuca, and Kevin Spacey are hoping to get the film into production this year or first thing next year. The movie would mark Fincher’s follow-up to last year’s Academy Award-nominated The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The script, supposedly printed on hard-to-photocopy red paper, is being kept tightly under wraps. All parties declined to comment.

David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin: Can these crazy kids make a Facebook movie work?

Oh my god! David Fincher, Aaron Sorkin, and Kevin Spacey are three of my most favorite people in showbiz. Oh my goodness, this is so exciting. This better happen now, or I’m going to be disappointed.

Sorry… apparently I’m so excited (and confused) that I posted a comment twice.
This film is based on a book written by Ben Mezrich and is being produced by Dana Brunetti.
You forgot to mention Dana Brunetti as Producer and the screen play is based on the book by Ben Mezrich.
It’s great that Ben MEZRICH’s book about Facebook, THE ACCIDENTAL BILLIONAIRES, is getting turned into movies by screenwriters. It makes us really appreciate New York Times Bestselling Authors at their finest. Congrats to Mr. Mezrich for such an accomplishment. I am excited to pre-order this new one!
This is based on a screenplay written by Ben Mezrich and Dana Brunetti is one of the producers.
You’d think that an article, no matter how short and to the point, would include such BASICS as the fact that this film is based on Ben Mezrich’s upcoming book “The Accidental Billionaires” and is being produced by Dana Brunetti. Oh and they BOTH have Facebook profiles. Go figure.
You forgot writer and producer

Aaron Sorkin’s script based on Ben Mezrich’s upcoming book “The Accidental Billionaires”. Dana Brunetti is producing.
I LOVE David Fincher but he’s almost as bad as Robert Rodriguez when it comes to having a ton of projects in the works.
If you did your homework you’d know to include pertinent info like it’s based on Ben Mezrich’s book THE ACCIDENTAL BILLIONAIRES and is being produced by Dana Brunetti. Check out these talented guys on Twitter and Facebook.
They better hurry up! Twitter is displacing Facebook!
I hear that Dana Brunetti (Shrink,Columbus Day, Fanboys, Casino Jack in 2010) is producing this movie which is based on Ben Mezrich’s book “The Accidental Billionaires.” Can’t wait! Should be awesome!
