EXTREMLY funny but should have been rated nc-17. Pushes boundaries like no other film in a long time. There were actually people walking out of the theater shocked at some of the stuff in it.

I talked to someone who walked out of the theater before the movie could finish. I asked why did you even buy a ticket in the first place. The trailer reeks of idiocy and lowest common denominator humor. To make a long story short there’s an incredibly inappropriate scene where they have a black child in the hottub with three men while sex is taking place. There is something wrong with the mind of anyone that can defend that type of reprehensible behavior. I guarantee if that had been a white child the media would have been all over it with outrage! People would be climbing walls demanding justice for such child endangerment and no one would see a thing funny about that. The media may take a dismissive eye on things and some will even pour sugar on scat to make it sound sweet, it’s still scat. Everyone involved in the disgusting approval of this offensive and repugnant film, deserve the Godsmack that’s surely coming their way.
Saturday night box office reports had Bruno dropping all the way down to number three last night (40% drop in ticket sales). Ice Age and Transformers both ballooned to over 10 million dollars each in tickets sold Saturday to finish 1st and 2nd. And it’s starting to look like Ice Age could be the number one movie by Monday if Bruno has another precipitous drop today.
OK-
please don’t tell me that you DIDN’T expect it! what with Borat and Sachas other funny stuff.
so stop moaning about it,
even if it is bad in the eye of people.
it is hilarious and deserves to be known.
Actually, watching some moronic parent who was STUPID enough to bring his (or her) child to this piece of trash try to deal with their idiotic decision would have been a lot more fun to watch than the movie itself. Feel bad for the kid to have such a loser dad, though.
… she may have the sensibility to give a cheap-stunt trick like Bruno the thumbs down.
But she still gave The Proposal a B.
I think it’s just the lack of good movies this summer and the critics felt like the couldn’t give all the pieces of crap F’s, so they started trying to justify some – like Bruno – to make them appear better than they were.
I Just find it interesting that some people define this movie as “The most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.” I can clearly think of at least 50 movies far more questionable than this one could ever be. Bruno is a bold and humorous approach toward social commentary. Apparently some folks can’t grasp that. People actually walked out in my theater when some male genitalia was waving around like a pin wheel. Big deal. People need to get over them selves. Why don’t folks try digging a little deeper for the intended message of the film before they freak out at the first sight of dong. Very Good movie, not 100% amazing. But definitely very good.
The treatment of Ron Paul went beyond insensitivity. How about fraud, false imprisonment, and assault? He tricked Ron Paul’s too-credulous campaign staff with phony companies, bogus web sites, and lies. Then they tricked him into a side room that was furnished with a bed and so forth. Cohen made sexual advances that he knew would be unwelcome, while blocking the closed exit! Cohen is a much larger and more muscular man than the 72 year old patriot. But in moral stature and courage he will never measure up.
Responding to a previous post. Everyone know that this is a rip off of Tom Green. And lots of people think Tom Green is a genious. Just read all the articles about his MTV show online. Tom Green is a genius and he started it all. No other comedian is is as funny as him. And that includes Bruno. Period. And everyone knows it whether they admit it or not.
Jackass and Sacha Baron Cohen ripped off Tom Green. Everyone who pays attention knows it. Period.
