Let's bring back the concert film! And who would you like to see in one?

I read something in EW this week that genuinely shocked me. Read the full post.

A twilight and new moon concert would be nice.

I would love to see a concert film of Arcade Fire. They’re amazing, and put on a moving show. What an experience. I’m sure it would translate wonderfully to the screen.

Springsteen of course. If we could turn back the time to 1978 or 1984/85. But even today Bruce deserves it, he still is the top concert performer.
This said “Stop Making sense” is the best concert movie ever, so inventive.

Darla, I would agree on a Twilight/New Moon concert, but only if Robert Pattinson performs live on stage, now bring out the shamwow!
As for Arcade Fire, yes, there is a DVD of theirs Black Mirror.

There’s a good reason why Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds film was at #1. That’s because her millions of fans had had very few chances to see her live unlike all the OTHER performers I see mentioned in these comments.
Think Beatles coming to America for their first tour.

It would be nice, especially since VH1 and MTV can show videos for more than 2 hours a day.

Most current popular artists like Beyonce, Kanye, Britney etc. is that they suck live. Most of their act is on hard drive. It’s all show. The reason I imagine a director like Jonathan Demme keeps making Neil Young movies is because Neil is the real thing. Warts and all.

the concert film def. needs to make a comeback! Bring back the live experience to cinema!
I’d love to see Prince do another concert film. His Sign O’ the Times film was one of the best films I’ve seen.

you forgot Kylie Minogue’s “White Diamond” documentary

Let’s keep the MJ thing in perspective and let’s not believe the Hype from the MJ propaganda machine. ‘This is It’ is NOT the top grossing concert film of all time. Madonna’s Truth or Dare came out at a time when movie tickets were $4.50. Adjusting for inflation, and an average $11 a ticket… Truth or Dare would have earned more than $170-million at the worldwide box office.

I’d Love To Watch A Concert Film For Metallica, Green Day, The Scorpions, Nirvana Cause That’s What Real Music Is, Not Some Shitty Pop Crap Sounds…
