MICHELLE PFEIFFER, “CHERI”!!
I was just going to type this up and you already did Winston. I totally agree that Michelle Pfeiffer in ‘Cheri’ was magnificant and deserves Oscar recongition again!
And the Winner is….MERYL STREEP! Best Actress all the way!
Debbie Gibson in Giant Octopus vs. Mega Shark. Now that’s some quality acting, lol.
Meryl Streep would have her third Oscar right now if her performance in “The Devil Wears Prada” was in its proper category – supporting performance. The same thing will happen this year with “Julie and Julia”. Both are really supporting performances in their respective films. Also, the Academy seems to be more willing to award comedic performances in supporting categories, so it would really be to hers and the studio’s advantage. If there are absolutely no surefire/knockout dramatic lead performances this year, she may have a shot.
Personally, I think Streep’s performance as Julia Child was brilliant, and I’d love to see her win, but because she doesn’t have a big crying scene, or die, or have a disease, it may be off too many Oscar voters’ radars.
I’m hearing great things about Sandra Bullock in “The Blind Side”.
Have to give my vote for Abbie Cornish — very deserving.
For Soem Reason Cameron Diaz in My Sister’s Keeper popped in my head or is that more golden globe material?
