Anna Faris is sticking to the world of children’s entertainment. The blonde comedian best known for her starring role in House Bunny, and who recently voiced a lead role in Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, is in negotiations to star in Warner Bros. live-action/CG-animated feature Yogi Bear. She will play Rachel, a nature documentary filmmaker shooting Yogi and Boo-Boo for her next project. Dan Aykroyd is in negotiations to voice the CG-animated Yogi while Justin Timberlake is in talks to voice Boo-Boo. The film, from producer Donald DeLine, is set to begin filming in Auckland, New Zealand next month. Eric Brevig (Journey to the Center of the Earth) is directing a script from Brad Copeland (Wild Hogs). A remake of Yogi Bear seems to be an incredibly unnecessary project but with these inspired casting choices perhaps a good movie will prevail.

Anna Faris is probably better known from Scary Movie Series, just sayin
Exactly what I thought when i read that.
I third that.
I love this idea.
Yogi Bear? Really?
Why can they never leave the classics of childhood alone!? It’s bad enough we had to endure Jim Carrey’s turn as the Grinch and Horton. (Not to mention Cat in the Hat which was also ruined by another actor not to be named.)
Now Carrey is ruining A Christmas Carol. And then I read this? I give up on Hollywood.
Just because they are remaking it doesn’t me the originals will cease to exist. Just don’t watch it and watch the old ones.
Sacrilege! Smarter than the average Hollywood fiasco? I think not. This has Rocky & Bullwinkle written all over it.
I like to see Anna Faris. The comic to do more comedy movies. Is there going to be a House Bunny part 2?The sequel from the 2008 movie. It had a cat wearing bunny Ears in the movie.
This should be a hunting movie. I’d love to see Anna feasting on Boo Boo’s raw entrails.
I like your thinking!
Better yet, a horror movie.
“Hey boo boo, I’m going to eat them!”
Sounds like you’d enjoy the John K take on Yogi that popped up on adult swim a couple years ago. Yikes…
This sounds like an awful idea. I love Anna Faris, but she should stay away from this at all costs.
couldn’t she be a nude documentary film-maker….if belushi were alive he would be the best Yogi..
Call me crazy but I’m looking forward to this, though I did also like the Scary Movies.
I just want to know who’s playing Ranger Smith. Steve Carell perhaps?
Why not just make some more cartoon shorts?
Ranger Smith? Stephen Colbert.
Done.
I agree! Colbert would be awesome as the Ranger!!!
Man, Faris is such a talented, sharp comedienne…why is she stuck in these awful films—House Bunny, Serve And Protect, Yogi Bear…???
If this wasn’t November, I would swear this was an April Fool’s joke.
Why does someone so funny and talented want to put their career in the toilet with a waste of time unnecessary project?
