I thought the movie was fun, but a good 30 minutes too long. Especially in the beginning…took too long to set up.
i personally don’t believe in 2012, but the movie had really cool disaster scenes.
no major character dies? At least the dog should have!!!
Impressive effects aren’t an end unto themselves…. 2012 lacks plot or characters that engage us enough for something so “epic” – and long! See a father & daughter’s review at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNPyNccAJOk
I’m a huge Owen fan… but I don’t know what I find most shocking: that he mentioned he has a wife, that he actually lowered himself to watch a film with regular viewers, or that he willingly PAID to see a big-budget Hollywood studio film.
lowered himself to watch a film with regular viewers? thats a bit harsh. I think watching a big budget disaster movie is ONLY fun if you are in a packed theatre surrounded by ooing and ahing fans. there’s solidarity to it. and i feel like most critics do hope to enjoy the movies they see. They aren’t just waiting to tear them apart. so I can understand paying for a movie if you hope to be entertained.
