Before the first Bourne movie, people doubted Matt Damon as an action star. Keep em coming!
i love the bourne movies, and i love matt damon. and i also admire matt damon b/c he said that a fourth bourne movie would have to be called ‘the bourne redundancy’. let the trilogy stand as it is.
Maybe they can lure Doug Liman back for the fourth one, Greengrass did an outstanding job, but Liman would be a solid replacement.
I’m actually thrilled to hear this. I can only speak for myself but the chaotic camera work ruined for me what otherwise would have amazing films. I’ll be excited to see the next film in the hands of someone with a different style.
Thank the Lord this hack s off the movies. Liman’s was the best one
Agree!!!
I haven’t read the books, but I had actually thought there was a fourth one that Ludlum hadn’t finished or they were taking from some short stories in anthologies and going off of that for this. I am a little bit more concerned that Matt Damon is not signed on yet…um, he is Jason Bourne.
I know this article is mainly about Paul Greengrass but I did want to add that I’m almost indifferent to the director (Liman, Gilroy, other), as long as said director can lure back Matt Damon. If they can’t, I’m on the fence about the franchise, as Damon so embodies Jason Bourne for me.
Excellent! No more shaky cam! I can actually *see* the great car chases now!
Too bad that Greengas is stepping down. But I think Gilroy could work as a replacement or bring back Doug Liman.
I am thrilled Greengrass is off the film. Waaaaaaaaay too much camera shaking going on in the last one AND I think Limon’s was the best one. I hope they go ahead with the fourth film with Damon but if he walks they should get Chris Pine to play Bourne, he would make a great Jason Bourne.
