UP! for the WIN!
UP! all the way.. best film of the year
Even though the list was completely predictable, hooray for Sandra Bullock and Mo’Nique!
I would have liked to see ‘Star Trek’ nominated for Best Picture, though.
Glad to see Nick Hornby in the adapted screenplay category!
A Serious Man is the 10th film nominated for best picture
Where is Ed Helms’ nom for Stu’s Song????
Murdered by crystal meth tweakers-of course!
I’m pulling for Sandra Bullock, and if Christoph Waltz doesn’t win, there is no justice in the world.
As much as I’m dreading his acceptance speech, I agree. He was beyond fantastic in Inglorious Basterds.
Haha, I’ve been so happy that he’s winning all these other awards for Supporting Actor, I mean there’s no competition there, but his speeches are losing me
I find his speeches hilarious. I’m excited to see how he’s going to incorporate ‘Oscar’ or ‘Academy Award’ into this one. Wordplay, FTW!
I completely agree although why supporting actor? He carried that movie!!
To us-after 3 years of nominations Israel should win.
Up and The Blind Side were the only 2 movies this year that I actually shelled out to go see twice at the theatres, so yeah, I think they deserve to be there.
I watched Up twice, Inglorious Basterds twice (in theaters, twice more since I’ve had it on DVD) and I want to go see Up in the Air again. However, my mother, who yells at me all the time for paying to see movies more than once at the theater, said she would pay to go see The Blind Side again.
Where is 500 Days of Summer?
It wasn’t THAT good of a movie.
it was better then “The Blind Side”!!..it was inventive, where as “The Blind Side” was been there, seen that!
I agree, I really thought (500) Days of Summer should be nominated for something. I’m disappointed.
biggest snub of all.
The list sucks! The only thing I’m happy about is Maggie Gyllenhaal received a nomination, but really The Blind Side? And I expected at the very least 500 Days of Summer to get an original screenplay nod. It would have been nice to see more nominations, but I expected a screenplay nod…and THEY DON’T EVEN GET THAT! You suck Oscars. You suck.
I’m also happy that Harry Potter is for up Cinematography, and They Young Victoria and The Imaginariumof Doctor Parnassus is up for Best Costume Design. But really this list sucks. I don’t think I’m at all excited for this years Oscars now.
Star Trek would have been a better choice than the joke that is “The Blind Side”. The Blind Side was crap. There are 1,000 movies like and there will be 1,000 more.
there are 10 nominees for best pic. you only listed 9…
Wow. Just noticed that even with the expanded field, none of the best picture nominees are up for best costumes. Where the hell is An Education?
Has there ever been an instance where Best Supporting Actor has been exactly the same five people in the Globes, SAG, and the Oscars? Usually they mix it up just once somewhere along the way.
Nevertheless, hooray for Christopher Plummer finally getting an Oscar nomination. Only took about 60 years.
Cripes! He’s *never* been nominated? I’m happy to see him and I’m especially happy to see Colin Firth in the Best Actor category. Neither really has a chance against Christoph Waltz and Jeff Bridges, but still….
district 9! so excited about the best picture and adapted screenplay noms!
