The relatively few number of screens (only 2,500 as opposed to the 3,000-4,000 big films open on these days) is probably the only thing keeping Shutter Island from doing as well as it could.
I do think you’re somewhat overestimating Valentine’s Day (seeing as its main gimmick is over and it, well, sucked).
I agree with you. The holiday is already over and most people said the movie was bad.
I am personally excited to see Percy Jackson And The Olympians this weekend. I heard it was really good and funny.BTW, DON’T SEE VD.
Originally, this movies was slated for 2009. It makes you wonder why the studios held on until now.
The flick has elements that people on the Internet will spoil. This is a must-see-right-now kind of film.

Judging by my experience seeing Shutter Island…its about to do it extremely well. Possibly better than predicted. That movie was sold out in multiple theaters. I went to a 10:30 and 460 seats were filled.
