I knew Polanski hated the United States but did not know of his intense dislike of Great Britain. This movie is much ado about very little. Look out for the CIA bogeymen, however. They will kill you if you bring their evil machinations into the light of day! A pathetic effort by the man who brought us Chinatown and Rosemary’s Baby. Maybe life in prison is too good for him.

Cattrall is what ultimately dragged the movie down. She was unable to maintain her accent throughout it, and it took me out of the story. Shame, as it was otherwise a top notch cast and story.

Kim/Amelia had a “blended” accent? Well, I’ll go along with that. Sounds like someone threw the English language in a blender and hit the liquify button. Nice attempt to get her off the hook though. She was horrible! Ruined every scene she was in. (She only lived in England for the first 3 months of her life – she has no natural English accent. Clearly.)

“Instead, using the British accent she can claim by rights of her UK birth, Cattrall creates an entirely new kind of powerful woman-behind-the-power.”

Sorry, but her attempt at a British accent simply didn’t work.

    Nor did McGregor’s English accent.
