“Kathryn Bigelow’s not here tonight. I am”. Wow, Lee Daniels is a douche.

i dont watch the awards because its all a bunch of bull with people like Ebert and Ropert deciding which movies should win, they have no taste in movies what so ever.

500 days doesn’t deserve awards. if you think so, you’re probably under 27 years old. it’s not bad to be under 27 or anything, but 500 days doesn’t really appeal to people over that age, in large part because after about 32 or 33 most people cease to think in terms of bands/music. music is what our children are into (i’m 38). juno was a lot about music, but also bateman’s character was implicitly mocked by juno and garner’s character for still being into obscure bands and stuff at his age. that mockery made the film more accessible to me.

So under your theory if you do not fit the age or cohort group of the film’s protagonists it won’t be enjoyable?

also, i sort of feel like ALL the films up for bets picture are overrated (however, i have yet to see a single man). neither avatar nor the hurt locker are about characters. renner is okay, but he plays a man who hides his feelings, whic gets old fast and actually doesn’t really test of exhibit his ability to act. up in teh air is teh only film in which people actually have relationships and talk about them. all the other films are about people who brood or lose themselves in their work or get more or less tortured by their parents.

quote one speech from any film nominated for best picture. now, quote one from the films nominated two years ago and three years ago. that’s easy (“i’m not a miracle worker. i’m a janitor”/ “i drink your milkshake…”) this year sucks.

I think that “Precious” was a rather good movie though it loses its grip while it tries hard to keep the audience’s attention.I turns plodding at times . This is the main reason why I feel it has been overrated.

I meant , it turns plodding hahaha
