Robinhood comes out this summer. That movie will be huge…but not like Iron Man.
I cannot wait for Iron Man. And SATC will probably be huge also.
Iron Man 2 was released last weekend in Mexico, I saw it and I can tell you… it is good, but not as good as the first movie, and DEFINITELY not as good as The Dark Knight! if this movie surpasses TDK there’s gotta be something very wrong!!! pure pop-corn summer flick
Iron Man rule
Biggest movie of the year will likely be The Deathly Hallows part 1. Final book of Harry Potter + 3D prices = close to, if not surpassing, 900 million worldwide.
I told my kids and their father that I want to see Iron Man 2 as a family. Great gift for me for Mother’s Day. Fun to watch together. I know it’s going to be AWESOME!
Don’t give a rats a** about Robin Hood. I am tired of remakes of movies that has already been remade. I didn’t even care for the one with Kevin Costner.
Iron Man 2 is going to be HUGE because it’s a movie that everyone wants to see. I think it will beat Dark Knight.
I love RDJ, loved the first Iron Man, and will be seeing the second one tomorrow on IMAX.
Now, as for Dark Knight. I’m sorry, anyone who says that it was the worst super hero movie needs to go back and read their comic books. By far it is the best super hero film produced as of yet. I’m not a fan boy, not even a fan girl, but a fan woman. Truthfully, having such good actors and a tight script took Dark Knight to a whole new level with the super hero film genre. Mind you, I’m sure people did come to see Heath’s final performance, but many people went because the buzz was good, the reviews were great, and the film did not disappoint. In saying that, I can admit that I loved Iron Man as well. It’s one of my fav comic books and RDJ (one of my fav actors) surprised me by being able to really bring Tony Stark to life– just the way Christian Bale did with Bruce Wayne.
I don’t think all critics think IM2 isn’t good more than expectations were high. There are still some very good reviews for it, personally, I was disappointed in the one that EW gave. I wouldn’t use it as my guide to see the film or not. Comparing IM to Dark Knight is sort of silly to me. Dark Knight really was a piece of art (that managed to be suspensful and fun)– and Iron Man was just pure fun (predictable but exciting)– both films entertained and in the end there is nothing wrong with that.
Wow… So many morons on here hahahah. “The Dark Knight was trash..” “It was overrated..” HAHAH Then be my guest and please tell me what superhero movie can even come remotely close.. YOu are fools.. Yep.. It made all that money because Heath Ledger died.. Hey dumbasses how come Bernie Mac’s LAST movie are dead actors before him didn’t have out of this world box office numbers?? STFU and go watch Fantastic Four
I think everyone needs to watch out for Toy Story 3. It’s the dark horse of the summer (that or Inception, that is). Iron Man 2 has gotten more hype, but hype has been really building up for Toy Story 3 as well. For one, it’s got the Pixar name going for it, and to top it off, it’s TOY STORY. ’nuff said.
Anyway, most moviegoers are more familiar with Woody and Buzz than they are with Tony Stark or Iron Man. And the Toy Story movies have such a wide demographic appeal (adults, teens who grew up with the films, and little kids). Also, let’s not forget the 3D prices. I know I rambled, but I’m pointing at all the reasons.
Wow. I am honestly losing faith in the American people. First “Paranormal Activity” then “The Blind Side” now this movie? These past three “Box Office Hits” that I have seen in theaters have been such garbage it makes me cringe. Just like the other two, IronMan2 the movie was a corny, mindless production. I honestly could not tell if this was supposed to be a comedy or a drama, or a comedy/drama or anything for that matter…mainly due to the fact that the characters lines constantly overlapped each other throughout the duration of the entire film. Not for one second did i have a complete understanding of what the hell was going on, nor did I find any of the corny one-liners to be the least bit funny. They simply tried too hard…WAY too hard. I could not connect with any of the characters, either. The entire movie moved to ridiculously fast that I never had time too. The special effects were cool, yes, but that does not make it a good movie. It’s 2010 people; anyone could have done that. The fact that any one person is on this site arguing that this movie was the least bit enjoyable honestly frightens me. I guess this is just proof of how dumb America is becoming. It really is a damn shame. “Forrest Gump”, “Titanic”, and “Gran Torino”…now those are good movies. IronMan2 is simply not.
IM2 is a turd. Favreau managed to do what directors of recent superhero sequels avoided: making a sub par sequel to the original. Absolutely not a must-see by any stretch and not THE summer movie many were touting it would be. That is yet to come but it’s not IM2.
