I got my 12 yr old daughter to watch Space Camp this weekend with him in it. She loved it. Still a great movie.
why wouldn’t he be?
In the film, Joaquin converts to Islam, and changes his name to Rakim Fihniz; after that conversion, he spirals into a coke- and hooker-fueled binge, as part of his secret jihad against Western imperialism (exemplified by Ben Affleck).
who cares……
Well, this wouldn’t be the first time an actor’s career went down the toilet. Interestingly enough, in the wake of trying to become a rapper by trying to convince Puffy, of all people,to produce your whole album is a first. Usually you start out by being featured in others songs, then you build up to trying to get Puffy to do and album. Maybe Ole Joaquin just went about becoming a rapper all wrong.
Too bad about the cocaine. That’s what happened to his brother. Apparently he’s not aware of that. Joaquin, note to self: Stop doing drugs just because you can afford it and because you’re bored; that’s how you become an addict!
Should have taken the role in Stiller’s independent film. So, sick of these actors making all the money in the world and they throw it away on nothing. Why don’t you try becoming a regular person that gets up and goes to work everyday.
Continuing…. The sleeping with prostitutes is another part. You can pay for sex because you want it and no decent woman in their right mind would sleep with you.
Your all idiots especially Moe.Not only would I call the cops.I would chop the hands off the taggers a.ka. graffiti”artist”.You guys are buying this hook line and sinker
Even tho his brother went thru this drug thing, and he felt Johnny Cash’s pain, maybe he just got too deep into character like Heath Ledger and has nowhere to go but spiral down in his mind…mayb he doesn’t realize it is a cry for help. I hope someone helps him & he gets back on his feet and that we don’t lose another talented and young actor. God Bless Joaquin.
Joaquin WHO??
If he is snorting cocaine etc etc and simply falling apart as the article suggest…wouldn’t his sister and brother in law be trying to help him rather than film him ……….. definitely a hoax…
It’s a HOAX..most people can’t understand playing the long game and actually committing to something this long term. he sacrificed a year of his life for art, the art is irony. Cant wait to see
I saw Joaquin Phoenix at a Sushi Restaurant in Studio City several months ago. I was with a group of friends and we were all very drunk. One of my friends sent a bottle of sake to his table…I know it was a stupid gesture. Anyways, he came over to our table and thanked us. He was very nice, articulate and we had a brief conversation with him outside while smoking. He was clean shaven, wearing a baseball hat and was perfectly normal. I didn’t ask him about his Letterman interview or reference anything specific that he has done. He was really cool. The point is, it is obviously an elaborate acting experiment or hoax or whatever you want to call it. It’s quite genius really: to stay in character that long and completely immerse yourself in this alternate self and alternate life. It’s gotta have some kind of psychological significance.
