I think that Mickey Rourke could totally pull off a Clint Eastwood-like career as far as acting goes. Clint is not a pretty man, he’s an interesting-looking man and so is Mickey.

Mickey is making better choices and he still has the charisma he had in his young adulthood. He does not need to play thugs or has beens, I’d watch him in anything. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise can not hold a candle to Mickey Rourke’s talent!

How about a role in Pirates 4 or 5? Or maybe the Long-delayed Ellen Page Lesbian Werewolf movie. He could play the dad.

My boyfriend and I are both thrilled with Mickey Rourke’s comback. WE are hughe fans of this amazing actor. George thinks Mickey should do a lead role as a detective a la Mike Hammer. I say why not do a thriller and have MIckey co-star with a hot European actress. Catherine Deneuve comes to mind. I’d like to see him directed by Scorcese too. Am I asking for the moon when we have the stars?

Admittedly I am a fan. And I visually see him the was he was, romantic and gorgeous! I think Hollywood will take him very seriously! And in the art house chick flick as the romantic hero, pair him with ScarJo! Or even Meryl!

MR is a great actor, but his face looks like hell. He is not and never will be an Eastwood/Clooney type. He doesn’t have their class, control, or sophistication. Frankly, I see him pigeon-holed in action/comic character roles. The Stallone film is in the Tropic Thunder, First Blood genre with much older actors unrealistically playing roles that physically would not be possible for that age group.

Mickey is a true hero in my book. A tough guy who has been through the ropes of life and came back a humble and romantic man who still battles the inner demons he once faced with full force. He is absolutely wonderful and brings heart to every character he plays. I truly hope, and heard talks of, him playing “The Ice Man”, serial killer, Kuklinski. This role would be perfect for him. For both men were aware of their negative and positive sides. Both dangerous, intelligent, and both have/had moments of true heart and feeling for loved ones. I don’t feel there is anyone better to fill those shoes better than Mick and it would be nice somewhere along the film road for him to have an actual great love scene..

Giving Penn the nod was Hollywood politics. I’m sure there was someone in the academy that loved Penn’s politics or his father, or whatever. If ever a guy got robbed it was Rourke, unless you count Burt Renolds. Hollywood picko’s, yeah that’s the ticket

He can play any kind of role suited to his style of talent, it is society that needs to get over it.
