“Iron Man 2″ still in first place -that’s a no brainer. Still I thought it could have been much better, perhaps as good as the first one. So nice to see a black superhero finally – War Machine Kicked Azz! I guess comic book writers/artists/publishers believe that black people don’t read comic books, DOH!! Speaking of black people, I was stunned to read that “Just Wright” starring Common & Dana Elain Owens aka Queen Latifah, only came in fourth place – we (Black People) don’t support our movies – such a tragedy too. WAKE-UP Black People!!!! Oh well that’s the way it goes. And why isn’t there a James Bond Movie coming out this year??? I’m so peeved!!!!

How do you keep Terrence Howard and Don Cheadle from raping Gwyneth Paltrier? Throw em a basketball!

I see why Iron Man 2 graded out to an “A” from exit polling. The CGI effects are stunning even without the 3D enhancement. The acting is superb and only aided with the additions of Cheadle, Johannsen, and Rockwell. The story is once again fluid and well plotted out. The only mistake here is that we didn’t get a 3D version. They won’t make that mistake with Iron Man 3. Still, what’s to complain about. It’s a blockbuster movie with 200 mill in the register in just 2 weekends, making 5 to 10 mill per day during the week, and no competition until Shrek 4 opens. Even then it’s still going to be holding it own. The movie as a whole is just that phenomenal!

While there’s nothing spectacular about Robin Hood, I did rather enjoy it. And it’s a misconception to call it a repeat of the same story. It’s actually more of a prequel; I doubt the people calling it a “rehash” have seen it.
This summer looks incredibly weak overall, though. I’m looking forward to A Team, Inception and Toy Story 3 and not much else. Maybe Sex & the City with my girlfriends.

I’ve been saving my pennies lately so I only like to see one movie every other month. I had to skip this month so no Iron Man 2 but come June I will be seeing Knight and Day! can’t wait i’ll check back here when that comes out see how it does. at least i know it will be five dollars richer after i’ve seen it.

So if Robin Hood is supposed to be a prequel – which I already garnered from the previews – why then do we have an almost 50 yr old Robin Hood? That is exactly the reason why I will wait for the DVD. It is annoying the way the cast theses actors for these roles. They also thing that having what barely passes as a British accent is ok for a character whose anything but American. Why should I at a Persian Prince who does not have an Iranian accent but a fake British accent!

I saw Robin Hood this weekend, and I thought that it was a fun movie. Russell’s age doesn’t detract from the story at all. Iron Man 2 was good, but ScarJo was annoying–she posed too much.

I wouldnt call Channing Tatum a box office draw. Amanda Seyfried I would say is the more established star especially world wide. “Letters to Juliet” did not have a high profile marketing campain. This movie looks to use good old fashion word of mouth….I think Robin Hood opened pretty well. Most projected it to do about $25 mil. I dont understand why people want this movie to fail. It has a great cast and awesome director. It is already proving its self to be a world wide success! Iron Man 2 is doing great for a Summer Blockbuster Sequel!

Robin Hood was a decent spin not jolly good but far from the flaming turd of IM2 turned out to be. What a waste of Whiplash with the worst f$#koff death since Darth Maul. Glad to see it losing stem. With all the million they invested into that movie that is the final product they give us.. Crap

I’d love to see an in-depth article from EW on how movies who underperformed at the box office did subsequently on DVD. I’d like to see Just Wright – but already decided to wait for DVD. That kind of film is not improved by the big screen. How many romcoms or dramas are like that?

Best Robin Hood ever was Mel Brooks adaptation from the early 90′s. Check that out! You won’t regret it!

Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
