I’m not saying MacGruber is a masterpiece, but I’d be willing to bet that the majority of the haters on here didn’t even see the film (particularly those who think it’s a retread of the television sketch…it’s not). It’s not a masterpiece, but there’s plenty of subtle humor to go with the wealth of irreverence (the car stereo, for example). When audiences make films like Transformers 2 a colossal hit, maybe you can glean something from a movie with low numbers. It’s not a classic, but MacGruber delivers more laughs than the average comedy.

  I saw the movie because my girlfriend wanted to see it. I’ve never seen the skit on SNL, since I haven’t watched SNL for years, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. So, yes, I’m a hater and I don’t see too many people liking it unless they’re big fans of the TV skit.
