I’m looking forward to seeing “Air Bender” and “SALT” this summer…. but after seeing previews for Karate Kid, I’d like to see that too…can wait for A-team on DVD.
All these remakes that didn’t need to be done in the first place. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz – I’m staying home this weekend.
I’ll be pissed if Karate Kid gets no. 1. We can’t keep encouraging lazy remakes. If it fails, it won’t be because of the run time, it’ll be because of audience resentment. The original movie was perfect.
As for the A-Team, that has never been a movie, and fans have been wanting this for years. I’m going with A-Team at no. 1 because the Summer is missing some decent action
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Will Smith’s kid the brat in The Day the Earth Stood Still? That came out after Pursuit.
The Karate Kid vs. The A Team?! Ugh – this is what movies have come to?!
It’s a sea of crap this summer.
What a disappointing summer. I ususally go to the movies at least 3 times a month during the summer. This year, there is not a single movie on the horizon this summer that I am excited to see (except Splice which I missed last week). SATC2 stunk, Shrek has overstayed his welcome, Dinner for Shmuks looks silly, Salt looks cheesy…I may give A-Team a try if I hear good word of mouth. But it looks like I will be saving most of my hard earned dollars this year.
Has there been a summer with so few good movies before this one? This year SUCKS for movies. It seems like the studios just cared only about making a big spectacle or remakes 80′s hits or sequels only. Stop being lazy Hollywood because as you see this is what happens when you make crap movies nobody cares about.
I really wish parents considering taking their kids to Karate Kid will instead just go buy a copy of the original.
It’d be A LOT cheaper and it’d send a message to Hollywood.
F*cking bring on Inception already!
Word.
Friday- Karate Kid is Kick-A$$ with nearly a $20 million dollar first day
The A-team literally tanked with less than half that amount- about $9million
Shrek 4 is having a 5th BIG weekend- 4.6 million yesterday with matinees today and Sunday sure to be EVEN BIGGER
S0..uhh..the karate kid remake was actually better than the original?! For me atleast.
I agree. The remake worked better for me as a whole. I love the original in scene selection form and I always rewatch only Johnny stuff. But this remake actually had an engaging Kid.
