Wonder what Danny Glover thinks of all this.

  • shellibelli

who cares if he was recorded or why? maybe it was for evidenxe for one day in case he ever made good on his “putting you in the rose garden threat”

maybe it was for protection for the next time he tried to smack her, she could say oh i have evidence. whichever.

point is every one loses their temper in private and at their worse times can be hateful.

but this goes beyond that! more than being upset for being taped (like some of you guys are) he hits more than once, while holding a baby, listening to him yell you can tell the relationship is beyond toxic, and he should have just left.

he is filled with anger and seems to be very controlling.

Ive heard many many great things about Mel that made me like him forever, but this just might ruin him.

  • Nanners

Religious extreme freaks who practice everything but their religion exist everywhere. Scary!

  • Susan Martin

Mel has an anger management issue and the girlfriend is passive aggressive and knows how to push his anger buttons. Just like a regular couple. Anyone who is shocked and awed by the language and stereotypes Mel threw out, should not be surprised. His father was a white supremacist, and obviously Mel absorbed much of his father’s hatred of groups that are different from him. It is borne out of ignorance, and just because Mel is “star” does not make him a rocket scientist. Look at the biased religious film he made–he has a bit of a god complex.

  • M

Georgie what do you mean next “victim”? Mel chose to sleep with her. He’s no victim, he’s a monster.

  • Hank

The girlfriend isn’t that nice. She set his tail up. Don’t buy that she is some innocent person. She is a sleazy opportunist and this will make her well above her 100,000 a year. At end of the day it’s two idiots anyway. But don’t think for a second that pig of a woman is innocent. Look how far she has stooped for her chance at a dollar. Goldigger! No soul! haha. What did Mel expect in crappy hollywood? Someone to love him. haha. The land of fakes. LA

    • G

Hank, you’re really chauvinistic and disgusting.

      • Sophie Ann

Sorry, but I think Hank is right. Heard this morning the cops are going to interview her other illegitimate kid from Timothy Dalton.

    • @hank

you mean like fake Mel? or you mean like fake Americans from the midwest etc who make up most of Hollywood?

  • Olegv

Sounds like a great South Park episode. Mel Gibson is a grown up Eric Cartman.

  • wizardrjt

The simple truth is most people have an ugly side–it is just not washed in public. The predictions of his demise are exaggerated.

  • Henry

Mel appears to be deranged. There seems to be a fairly strong correlation between religious zealotry, which Mel embraces, and mental illness. His father is the same way so perhaps there is a genetic component as well. Quite pathetic.

    • Emmet

I agree. Mel has now insulted Jews (4.3 million Americans), Blacks (37.6 million), Latinos (46.9 million) and women (about 152 million). In total he has probably directly insulted about 75% of the U.S. population – maybe it is time for Jodie Foster to drop him from her new project. Maverick was 16 years ago and he is not the same guy.

      • Anon

Yeah, but the Mormons and the Pentecostals still like him. LOL

  • jamie iglesias

mel was very hurt by this woman. like many men who experience betrayal and he gave her a verbal assault using language many of us have used in private.

    • Wickeddoll

Anyone who uses that language in private, or in an arena is by no means “normal”. For one thing, why does he rant about race and Judaism, when he’s not even talking to someone from either group?! Who does that? Having said that, I think it’s highly suspicious that she taped the conversations. Smells of a setup.

    • Kevin

If that is truly the case then the “many of us” you speak of are racist scumbags no better than Mel Gibson. Public or private, nothing excuses such blatant hatred.

    • Danielle

Really Jamie? Language we’ve all used in private? Have you recently called your wife a “money using wh*re”? I agree this is a “private” conversation and the fact that we’re talking about it says a lot about our current culture, but, the tape is out there.

    • Claire

She didn’t tape them. He left them on her answering machine.

    • Mike

What is “normal” wickeddoll? The standards set by the entertainment industry’s image standards? It might not be ideal, but be careful with the usage of the term “normal.” Humans, and specifically males’ biological impulses would define “normal” as physically and verbally violent in confrontation. Society is artificial, but for argument’s sake, I’ll just say that history and psychology empirically shows that men with money and power lash out far more than the average male, who already broods enough. Life isn’t the Cosby show, you know. Your “normal” are special exceptions. The ideal. Get over yourself. I’m not making excuses, because Mel is an ass, but your self-righteous attitude pisses me off.

    • Niix Starkyller

Sorry, I’ve been betrayed, outraged, incensed, infuriated, and nigh on homicidal. In my wildest rants, I cannot recall being that vitriolic and overtly threatening to any woman. I’ve said hurtful things, yes, but Mel’s gone way past what I consider normal even in those heated situations. And somewhere, Nancy Meyers is shaking her head in dismay.

    • Niix Starkyller

Hrm, posting bug hit me again. Short version: Sorry, Jamie, not me. Not even at my worst would I be as bad as Mad Mel.

    • Lynda

The comments were not made on her answering machine, she is responding in parts.

  • nancy

Mel Gibson’s raging meltdown is typical of abusive men. His sense of entitlment seething with self-righteousness.

  • MrsT

I have to say that while I agree that we have all said things in the heat of an argument with our current or former significant others, I really think it’s telling that Mel just blames this woman for EVERYTHING — it’s HER fault he hit her (holding the baby no less), it’s HER fault that his life is falling apart, etc. Wonder if he’s tried to crawl back to wife #1 “that evil woman made me abandon my family, it’s not my fault!” Be interesting to see what if anything his exwife has to say about all this. I doubt that she’s hearing anything new on these tapes.

  • nancy

You can bet this rant was not her first encounter with Gibson’s rage. That’s why she recorded him.

  • Miguel

After reading this article, I have set everything aside before making my final conclution. It is true we don’t know the full story and can’t make a conclution base on tapes of a person that just lost his mind during this convertaion. Is like when you argue with your mother and then it hurts inside. Thanks Everyone.

    • Wacko

Let’s hope you don’t hit your mother.

  • mel crrrrazy

NO Way!!! Mel Gibson has been put in a straight jacket. OMG. This just keeps getting worse…and worse…and worse… Video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtzf6ZxNiTs
