Ellen Page is too small, and Carey Mulligan is too cute. This would be a perfect role for Keira Knightley!
Lisbeth is small. She’s only 4’11″

The only similarity to Lisbeth that Keira Knightley has is that she has no boobs.
Knightley would be perfect, except she is too tall.
I think Knightley is just wrong. She’s not only too tall, but she’s too pretty.
I see wha you mean but I was thinking about Noomi Rapace whose much taller tha 4’11. Keira is more like Noomi. And yes, no boobs, she can play tough (see: Domino) and to me at least, is actually not that pretty (well, at least not like Mulligan).
I can’t see Ellen or Carey sodomizing a guy while he is bound and gagged and them forcibly tattooing his body.
Have you seen Ellen Page in Hard Candy? She castrates a guy…sort of.
Yes I have. Hard Candy is one of my favorite movies of all time. But that scene was insinuated. It wasn’t shown like the scene in TGWTDT. I do like Ellen, loved her in Juno. But she doesn’t scream aggressiveness and anger and hostility to the world like Noomi did. The look on Noomi’s face in that scene and when she was being raped, I can’t envision Ellen in that at all. But hey, just my opinion.
Well if Hard Candy didn’t convince you, you should watch her in a little film called “Mouth to Mouth.”

Why are they remaking this? i just finished watching the original Swedish version within the last hour. as far as i was aware its a very new film? why is there any need to remake the original was brilliant. no offence america film people why do they need to take decent foreign films and make, often crappy, remakes? cant they just enjoy the film and let the original country take the credit?
Love Netflix i just finished watching it too it was amazing.
First, I’m interested in how they’re going to do it. Adapted to an American locale, or still set in Sweden with American/English/Australian actors speaking English with a Swedish accent?
They’re filming it in Sweden.
I’m one for Ellen Page, all the way. She’s the only one I can envision in that role, and it may get her recognition as a more diverse actress.
Side note: anyone else notice that 4 of the 7 actresses are Australian? Unusual odds, no?

i wish the original actress would do it, but since she refused the offer…keira knightley could pull it off…or what about michelle rodriguez, she at least has the dark looks and the bad bad image, just slim down…they need to find a new face…not a high profile actress…it will be too hollywood. loved the movie…has big shoes to fill.
Salander doesn’t really have ‘dark looks’, her hair is dyed black, but she’s got a really dark attitude, so Michelle could do that. Other than that, no, totally wrong.
Also her eyes are black.
Christina Ricci is so clearly the best choice. Even Noomi thinks so.

I love Ellen Page, but I’m just not sure I could see her in that part.
