It might have been written as a throwaway line in a story on Deadline Hollywood, but it turns out the speculation could be true. New Regency and 20th Century Fox are talking to Justin Timberlake to star in I’m.mortal, one of the most sought-after sci-fi projects in the marketplace today. No deal is done, but by the end of the week, Timberlake could be on board to play the protagonist in the film from writer/director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca). Timberlake’s reps declined to comment.
I’m.mortal depicts a future where the aging gene is turned off at age 25, but to avoid overpopulation, time has become the new currency. The lead character is a poor man from the ghetto who is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time. Amanda Seyfried has already signed on to play the beautiful rich girl he kidnaps while on the run.
Production is set to begin in early fall. We’ll keep you posted as the deal progresses.

Ugh, I’m so sick of hearing about Alpha Dog. It was a supporting role that he wasn’t even that good in. You could see ALL the effort and work in the performance. He won’t be able to carry a movie that isn’t a comedy…and Alpha Dog isn’t proof he can.

I think he’s a capable actor who has been in so-so films. I think his turn in David Fincher’s “Social Network” will silence his naysayers.

remember in 2002 when his first solo album, Justified,the industry was rematurely crowning him the new “king of pop?” (utter blasphey, RIP MJ) And how about the fact that his last album came out over 4 years ago. JT, I don’t know if you’re waiting for this dance-techno vibe in the industry to die down or if you’re scared to go up against Gaga or whoever or something, but dude, get back to making music. I’m tired of even thinking about seeing you on my movie screen. Tired of actors who think they can sing but even more tired of singers who think they can act.

For JTs fans name ANOTHER film that proves his dramatic chops as an actor. He’s been in more than one film, so if he’s a good actor name another truly great performance from him. Leaning on this performance from Alpha Dog is getting ridiculous.
I would see this movie, but not with Justin Timberlake in the lead. He is a good singer, but please. Seriously.
