The problem is the 60 mil budget, this’ll do great as another cult hit but with that big budget, it’ll come across as a bomb. I thought it was pretty good and cracks my top 5 for the year. Hot Tub Time Machine, Inception, The A-Team, The Expendables, Scott Pilgrim.
Good thing I listen to the critics and not you.
‘The Expendables’ had everything I was looking for this weekend: hitting, shooting, exploding, Jason Statham looking bemused when Mickey Rourke suggested tattooing Charlotte’s web on his head; no brilliant work of art here, but a damned good time nonetheless.
I’m tired of people complaining about no originality in Hollywood but then continue the same type of movie over and over again. If you aren’t going to support new and fresh movies, stop complaining.
It’s a shame Scott Pilgrim didn’t do as well. From a film standpoint it was fresh and pretty cool. I recommend it.
Loved it. Saw it with my 12 year old daughter. she thought it was great but short. sign of a good movie it’s over too soon!
No CinemaScore for “Eat, Pray, Love” and “The Expendables”?
I saw the Expendables twice its that good! Sly rules always and forever!!!
For all the Cera haters, you should go see Scott Pilgrim to see Cera get punched (a lot), hurled into buildings, and kicked through walls, and generally have the stuffing knocked out of him. You can always leave after the last fight, before the film ends.
It’s funny to see posts of Cera supporters who DID NOT see his movie, but “… plan to see it”. How do you know it was good or not?
Just because something is “new and fresh” doesn’t make it good. I’m not going to spend my money on something I’m not interested in just so someone who loves the movie thinks I should for the sake of convincing studios to take risks. Pilgrim supporters, you spend YOUR money and go see it SEVERAL times if you think it deserves support.
Wow, share one surprising thing with you all, i registered a new email address which can earn money by inviting people. it’s all free, I just recieved $50 in a single day doing a few mouse clicks! lol..love iPal.com!
I’d love to see Micheal Cera gutted by a Predator.
I’m surprised that nobody is commenting on the fact that Expendables beat every other movie out. Really? People want to see a bunch of old men running around playing cops and robbers?
I saw both Scott Pilgrim and Eat Pray Love last weekend. Scott Pilgrim was peculiar but I enjoyed it and my teenage boy cousin(the only reason I went)couldn’t stop re-enacting it once we got home. Eat Pray Love was a disappointment from start to finish Julia Roberts was NOT Elizabeth, there were some alterations to the story (I assume for cinematic reasons) and the “guts” of the book (the reason so many of us LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it) were glossed over. We love Elizabeth (and her story) for her struggle, but in this version nothing was very difficult for “movie Elizabeth” at all. Sorry, I’m not recommending EPL to any of my friends who loved the book. I AM recommending Scott Pilgrim to people who like unusual movies (or are teenage boys).
