I finally got around to seeing Inception, since this is the final weekend its playing at my local IMAX.
What an interesting film. I enjoyed it on the surface, but probably need to see it another 2 or 3 times to fully absorb what i saw.
Regarding your predictions Adam, the biggest mistake I saw there was your claiming Justin Long is “always charming”. I’ve found him irritating since I first saw him in Ed, and except in things like Dodgeball where he is abused I’d prefer not to see him.
I agree. Since when has Justin Long been oh so charming? Any movie of his that I like, I probably like it because of someone else in the cast. And the only times I’ve ever liked him is when he has a small supporting role. He’s always seemed to be kind of a tool. I don’t consider him to be charming at all. He’s not Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Does anyone remember “spagetti westerns”? Gunshots to the forehead, duals in the street, small towns with no law ,prostitutes, Even with the t.v. show in the saloon scene (Once Upon A Time In The West) no one got it! Good Grief Charlie Brown.
All crappy films from the boring AMERICAN to the gross-out piece of a MACHETE junk to the dumbed-down Drew Barrymore film that appeals to no one. Worst era in Hollywood without a doubt. No wonder people are buying DVD’s of older films.
Vampires Suck validates your theory more than any movie you listed, btw.
I don’t understand when Julia Roberts opened her movie to over 23 million and over 32 million in 6 days she is called a has-been. When George Clooney opens his movie with 13 million and 20 million in 6 days he is not. Movie stars are supposed to be held to a higher standard not a double standard.
it’s so weird. I work at a movie theatre and everyone who comes out of The American tells me how much they hate it… but it’s still in our biggest theatre. go figure.
Wow! Going the distance was another Drew Barrymore bomb. Hollywood needs to realize she is box office poison.
We went to see the American because of the good commercials. Little did we know that the commercials were better by far than this film was. EVERYONE in our theatre left commenting about it and scratching their heads. The consensus was “what the heck was that?”
The American was easily the worst movie I’ve paid to see in my life.
Save your money don’t go!!!
You obviously have an issue with Clooney. Fine, to each there own. However, to say he doesn’t draw movie goers in inaccurate. He does. Especially with the offbeat choices he makes.
their…oops, my bad. I’m still right though
