In honor of Emily the Strange’s 17th 13th birthday, the beloved cartoon character is getting a physical manifestation in young actress Chloë Moretz. The 13-year old actress will play Emily the Strange for Universal Pictures and Dark Horse Comics. Rob Reger created Emily the Strange in 1993. Since then, the character has been licensed and distributed into 35 countries around the world.
Said Reger of Moretz, “When I first met Chloë, I knew I found my Emily. She really identifies and understands the character, and has what it takes to bring her to life.”
Of freaking course it’s her. I challenge this actress to play a child at some point and see how that goes.

A-K87 I think she’ll be the next Christian Bale and just be a fantastic actor but never win an oscar. Her movie choices will be too out there for the academy. I love her for it.

Haha ikr??? Even if there were open auditions, there’d be like thousands of girls trying out…. And also, you have to be able to act the character! In my opinion, it’s better to have someone who doesn’t look like the character but is a good actress rather than a look-alike who’s a bad actress.

The character was a complete ripoff of an earlier book’s character, but the Emily creep decided to pursue legal action AGAINST THE ORIGINAL, which was published in the seventies. I hope this tanks and he chokes on it.
