House’s Olivia Wilde has landed yet another feature film role but this one is probably the most unique. For she will play Justin Timberlake’s mother in the Untitled Andrew Niccols project (previously titled I’m. mortal) for New Regency and Fox.
How, you ask, can this 26- year old actress play the mother of J.T.? Well the new thriller is based on a society where aging stops at 25 and time has become the currency. As such, even a 50-year old can look 25. In this world, the rich are immortal and the rest struggle to stay alive. The plot of the film center’s on Timberlake’s character Will who is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, and is forced to go on the run with a hostage, Sylvia, played by Amanda Seyfried. Cillian Murphy is playing one of the time keepers out to stop Will.
Niccols had wanted Wilde for the part but it was touch-and-go as to whether she could do it considering she’s set to co-star opposite Ryan Reynolds and Justin Bateman in the Universal comedy The Change-Up and still has her House role as Thirteen to manage. The young actress has become a hot commodity as of late, co-starring in Disney’s highly-anticipated winter release of Tron and just finishing up her role in Jon Favreau’s genre mash-up Cowboys vs. Aliens. With all this film work on her plate, it’s a wonder how long the Thirteen role will last.

Doesn’t seem like she will be returning to House this season, lame. But she is a great actress and good for her.
I’m really happy for her. 13 annoys me, and I’d love to see her branch out into film roles. If House had more than one female role, I’d feel differently towards her, but as is, she embodies too many stereotypes: dying, bisexual, drug-addicted, etc.
How is a bisexual doctor with Huntington’s who goes through a self-destructive phase a stereotype?
I really meant the drug-addicted bisexual part. I was talking about a few years ago when they had the very special “self-destructive queer does drugs and sleeps with women before getting clean and finding the love of a good man.” ep. It’s offensive, and cliched.
Besides that, don’t care about her at all. She’s flat, with no personality. She gets to be snarky sometimes, but she bores me.
yup…looks like 13′s time on house is over for good….lets hope that the producers replace her with someone immediately
Please. I hope Amber Tamblyn can be wooed to stay on as a regular. She’s awesome.
Its a bummer she won’t be on House as much – but I’m happy for her.
Besides, I like Amber Tamblyn and can’t wait to see how that all pans out.
an original sounding script idea. a rarity these days…
Is it a movie with Jason or Justine Bateman?
That was the only thing I wondering about the article too—-love Jason Bateman!
The movie stars Jason Bateman, not his sister, Justine. Here’s the premise from IMdB: A comedy in which a married guy switches bodies with his best friend in order to woo his co-worker.
Amber Tamblyn for the win!
The Plot reminds a little of Logan’s run. Just the fact that they live in an ageist community, an that these two people are running from the law. Sounds kinda interesting. The only thing bugging me is Justin Timberlake. I’ve never really thought he was a great actor. But I haven’t seen The Social Network yet…and apparently he’s awesome in it so…
Sorry about the missing letters and missing words….I should probably learn how to type.
Yeah, JT is stopping me from the Social Network. I don’t trust the critics about him either…I mean he’s playing an arrogant douchebag, how hard could that be for him..
Anything with Cillian Murphy is A-OK by me.
I completely agree. I was a bit uncertain about this movie until I saw his name. I’ll be there for sure just for him.
Well I’m glad for Olivia, I really don’t want her gone from House.
Why not film during the off time? Shows don’t film, for months at a time, they take time off in the fall, since there’s not many new episodes between November and February, March and May and June and September.
yay, Cillian Murphy!
Why do you keep referring to him as Andrew Niccols? It’s Andrew Niccol.
Reminds me of Children of Men even though in that, no new births.
