Wow, no more civil conversations on message boards.

The movie industry is in trouble. Yeah Jackass 3D makes $100 million in 17 days and Saw 3D makes 24 mil over the weekend, but where’s all the great acting???

Where’s the new generation of Pacino’s and De Niro’s? Just because the film is in 3D, it doesn’t mean you’re watching brilliant/entertaining film making.

      Test

The Social Network, The Town, Easy A, Inception, and The Kids Are All Right, all examples of critically acclaimed films with strong acting that were well received by audiences. Expect 127 Hours, The King’s Speech, and Black Swan to follow suit, so I doubt the film industry is in as much trouble as you’re making it seem.
And EW you better not block this post.

Walked out after 5 minutes. It is a gross, gory type of movie. Got a raincheck at the movie theather we where at. Not the psychological thriller I remember from the 1st (ps. I stopped watching it after the 1st one).

I’m sorry, but you saw the 7th installment of a series that is widely known to have become increasingly gory and sadistic starting with the sequel and you actually got a raincheck? what hodunk town do you live in?!?

For anyone who has seen the “3D” version of this movie, was just curious what your experience was like? Not about the movie itself, but the quality of the 3D. Saw it tonight and was very disappointed with the 3D aspect. It was very blurry, very few times did it even feel like anything was in 3D, and honestly the image was so bad at times, that it was hard to read what was on screen or tell which character was which in the darker scenes. Want to see if it might have been the theater or are other people having the same experience?

    • DACOOLE

Yeah, Jason. You are right on. 3-D was almost nil. Horrible producers just out to capitalize on 3-D for Halloween.

I took my boyfriend to see Saw 3-D, his first 3-D movie. What a major disappointment for us both. No plot, and between the two of us, had ideas that would have made a much better pic. Depp in Alice was much better.

    • DACOOLE

But what can I say? Depp delivers only the best.

      what an irrelevant comparison.

Red and The Social Network are really good …

Can’t wait for Due Date next week. The past couple of months have just been complete duds for movies — The Town, The Social Network and Reds have been the only three that I was remotely interested in. Luckily Deathly Hallows is coming up and some decent Thanksgiving/Christmas fare (True Grit!) after that.
I’ll have to wait awhile to see Hornet’s Nest, but it’ll be worth it. Surprised through that Hornet’s Nest is painted as a modest success while While Welcome to the Rileys is painted as a bomb — Nest’s per-screen average isn’t THAT much higher than Rileys’. I guess it’s more impressive because it’s sub-titled and doesn’t have major American stars? Feel bad for Gandolfini and Leo because they’re great and if I ever see the movie, it’ll be for them. In other news, the Kristen Stewart curse continues.

Paranormal Activity 2 was pretty good. SAW was very disappointing. it left some unanswered questions from the previous ones…….

People stupidly pay money to see rediculous movies like JackAss 3D and allow it to make a ton of money and everyone wonders why there are so many lame and uninspired movies out these days. Its because hollywood knows that the movie going public is stupid enough to pay good money for stupid movies.

    Fail K.S.!! Fail Dreamworks!!
