Pirates, beware of Warner Bros.’ wizards: Warner Bros. announced in a statement that they plan to probe the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I leak. The first 36 minutes of the film — which is released Friday in theaters — were made available on several Internet sharing sites like BitTorrent earlier in the week. Said the studio in a statement: “This week, a portion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 was stolen and illegally posted on the Internet. This constitutes a serious breach of copyright violation and theft of Warner Bros. property. We are working actively to restrict and/or remove copies that may be available. Also, we are vigorously investigation this matter and will prosecute those involved to the full extent of the law.”

And yet I would have never known had they not helpfully informed us!
You’ll never catch me, WB…. I use my laptop and wireless connection to ride around and find an unsecured signal to “share”
Go ahead and arrest my neighbor for my download…… tools
Arrrghhh…why is me hardies always walkin’ the plank, takin’ the blame for some scurvy scallywag who be releasin’ the booty prematurely?
Why would someone want/post only the first 36 minutes? that’s only a fifth of the entire film (which btw is the best of the series so far) and the movie is already in theaters in many countries (so full movie downloads should be available soon too). Saw it yesterday at a midnight showing.
you are funny. seriously. i laughed.
i never really understood the appeal to downloading stuff like that. Like, why wouldn’t you want to see it in the theater with the kick a** sound and giant picture and giddy atmosphere?
The “Snape Kills Dumbledore” guys are going to even further extraordinary lengths to spoil the Harry Potter series.
“Wing-greedium 3D-Gross-a!” Arrr, we Pirate wizards won’t be takin a shine to yar 3D convarrrrrsions.
WB didn’t take a shine to the 3D convarrrrsion either. It was canned about a month ago on this film because it wasn’t high quality enough (aka it was like Clash of the Titans). No 3D for Deathly Hallows Part 1.
BitTorrent isn’t a site Kate, it’s a P2P protocol. Christ EW, if you’re going to do a story with a tech component, at least get someone who knows what the hell they are talking about to write it.
