Eli Roth not clowning around, tackling more horror

Eli Roth, the director of Hostel and the dude who bashed in Nazis heads in Inglourious Basterds, will produce two more sure-to-be unsettling films. According to Deadline, he’s working on Aftershock, a thriller based on the February 2010 Chilean earthquake, and Clown, a film about a man who becomes consumed by an evil clown costume. First-timer Jon Watts will direct Clown, based on a fake trailer he and a colleague put together that caught Roth’s eye. Check it out.

Earthquakes must be terrifying, but I know I’m not the only one who would rather sit through three screenings of Aftershock than see the movie about a clown, which are to me what snakes were to Indiana Jones. Clowns are freaky. Just ask Cliff Clavin, Cosmo Kramer or the little boy in Poltergeist. I do not need this kind of fright. The trailer alone is already under my skin.

What is it about clowns, PopWatchers? Does this film’s bozo have a chance to be the scariest clown since Pennywise?

Yeah, Pennywise in Stephen King’s It put me off clowns since childhood. And I’m not too fond of Ronald McDonald either!

That clown movie is absolutely the LAST thing I would ever watch. I’m already terrified of them, and it’s not like Tim Curry helped with that. I will not go anywhere near that movie with a ten foot pole- and that means watching the clip, EW! *Evil eye*

I’ve always been afraid of clowns. My mom thinks its because when I was a kid I found a dead clown in the woods, but who knows?

      Is this Brittany from Glee?

    • Zach

Nope. It was said by Phil on Modern Family.

  • Pennywise

Phil, I was that dead clown you found in the woods… And now I’m going to steal all the peanut butter from your pantry
