Adrien Brody wins court battle against 'Giallo'

A federal district judge in Los Angeles has ruled that the makers of the film, Giallo, are not allowed to use Adrien Brody’s likeness until the Oscar winner is fully paid for his performance, according to the Associated Press. Brody had previously attempted to stop the sale of the film, claiming he was still owed $640,000 for his role as an FBI agent hunting a serial killer in Italy, but it was ultimately released straight-to-DVD. The court injunction could make it difficult to market and distribute the film unless the parties come to some resolution.

That’s pretty shady…as actors we hope that reaching a certain level guarantees you certain basic rights as an employee (like having a contract honored and getting paid on time), so it’s pretty disturbing that it can still happen on a star level.

I cant think of one movie this guy can open. Maybe they dont want to pay him b/c he cant open a movie. Hope he is blacklisted from hollywood

Doesn’t matter if they “want” to pay him or not. He has a contract. How about if any other employee in any other job worked for a few months and then their employers just decided not to pay them? And as for opening a movie, Brody’s opened plenty of movies, most recently Predators. But all of that is besides the point. And you want him blacklisted because he’s trying to get paid as he was promised? You’re an idiot.

I refuse to see this movie until Dario Argento pays ME $640,000.

“The court injunction could make it difficult to market and distribute the film unless the parties come to some resolution.” — obviously they already had trouble marketing that film because it went straight to video before Brody even filed anything.

Gee, I hate to break it to Mr. Brody but his likeness is already on the dust jacket for the video at my local franchise store. (Will those copies be pulled? Just wondering)

I would imagine that Brody is also upset with just how terribly Giallo turned out, and his almost laughable performance in it… easily Argento’s worst film. Uninspired, ho-hum, awful.
