'Frankie & Alice' trailer: The return of Halle Berry, Oscar winner

You’ve heard Oscar experts like EW’s Dave Karger rave about Halle Berry’s performance in Frankie & Alice. Now you can see it for yourself in the trailer below. She stars as a stripper with multiple-personality disorder. “Her other two personas are a racist white woman and, most arrestingly, a small child,” Karger says. The child is more interesting than the racist? That’s saying something. Check it out:

    Looks good.

These reviews seem excellent… I’m not convinced, but it does have potential.

    Welcome back.

Well, it would be lovely to see her back in the spotlight.

This looks like it could be pretty good. It’ll be good to see Halle Berry back in top form.

I can’t help but be reminded of Robert Downey Jr. character in ‘Tropic Thunder’.

I wish she would be a little more selective with her projects. I know everybody does paycheck movies, but it’s been a long time since she’s gotten such positive attention for her work. I can’t wait to see this.

I agree with you but I also wonder what sort of projects she’s been offered or realistically been up for.

        Exactly.

Love seeing her come back with something that looks substantial

Having Berry nominated for Best Actress along with Bening, Portman, Kidman and the kid from Winter’s Bone would be a really exciting line-up for Oscar night. Who cares who’s hosting – who’s nominated is really what I care about. I hope Berry is back in the mix.

they should call it “Oscar’s Gold”

Oscar nod or not, it’s nice to see her get some positive attention again. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard ‘Halle & Oscar’ in the same sentence and have it NOT refer to Monster’s Ball.

Nicely done. Whoever put the trailer together could use a little more practice time in the edit bay, but despite their amateur efforts, you can tell that Halle sinks her teeth into this one. I have a feeling it’s going to be a lot better than this trailer lets us to believe. I think this surprise entry into awards season will pay off for her!

This looks awful, like some bad Lifetime Movie of the week.

Phylicia Rashad looks great, too–wonder if she has potential for a nod? Noticed that Chandra Wilson was there, as well–surprised they didn’t put her name in the trailer.

I saw a screening of this movie last night and Halle Berry will NOT get nominated for this movie. It was awful! Whoever put this trailer together deserves an award because the movie is laughably bad. I feel bad for Halle because she seems so excited about this movie but it will flop and she won’t get the nomination she is searching for. She needs new management or a new agent because she is not getting good parts. Granted, she’s not a great actress (I think she got lucky with “Monster’s Ball”) but she is better than this film.
