Catherine Hardwicke in talks for 'The Maze Runner' adaptation

Tags: Books

Catherine Hardwicke is “in talks” to direct the film adaptation of The Maze Runner, James Dasher’s popular YA novel set in a dystopian society, according to Variety. It wouldn’t be Hardwicke’s first foray into the world of fantasy-tinged YA adaptations as she directed the first Twilight film, too.

    Let the bashing begin!

I have to say though, she might do better with this topic than she did with Twilight. At least Maze Runner is full of action.

If she does this movie and it sucks, I am going to be really mad. I love The Maze Runner!

STOP hiring this woman hollywood!! She is pathetic and a baaaaad director.

Why the hell would they even consider letting her direct anything after the fail that was Twilight. Ugh. I actually like the series a lot (reading The Scorch Trials right now)and this really pisses me off. Great, let the Twilight comparisons begin by EW (even though they have nothing in common).

Considering they gave her hardly any money to make Twilight, I think she did a decent job. I am not familiar with this book or series but I think she might be a good choice.

Heck no! Love that series, don’t love her.

I’ve read the first book. She’d do a good job. The book is really gritty and she’ll have a bigger budget for this film.
