Chris Colfer captures 'Lightning'

Chris Colfer of Glee has written a script titled Struck by Lightning that he’s planning to star in next summer, according to Variety. Compared in tone and spirit to the teen comedies of John Hughes, Lightning would be Colfer’s film debut. David Permut (Youth in Revolt) is on board as a producer.

ugh. can i just say that’s a terrible title and its the same title of an amateur script written by a friend. pathetic.

To be fair, I’m sure like most movies at these early stages, the title is tentative. The studio/big-wigs, etc. usually get a final say.

It’s better than the hypercommitteed, lowest-common-denominator, generic-to-the-point-of-pointless titles of today…

I’m so sick of these glee kids thinking they’re so talented, especially Colfer. Glee was good for the first half of season 1, then it got high off of itself and became overly-trite and dull.

The glee kids ARE talented. Sounds like your gripe is with the writers, not the actors.

I’d like to know what it’s about, more than just John Hughes-esque. But I do think Chris Colfer is a good actor, and I’m curious to see how his writing is.

I know! You can’t bill something as being like something from John Hughes and not expand on it! It’s going to have a lot to live up to
