Wahlberg is said to star, as well.
The studio had been eyeing the project for several months, but negotiations were only recently solidified.
The Raven, a six-minute thriller that was reportedly made for a mere $5,000 by the Peruvian director, follows a man with supernatural powers as he is chased in the future through the streets of downtown Los Angeles. (Video embedded below).

Mark Wahlberg in talks for ‘The Crow’ remake

Ha, I thought they were making the Edgar Allan Poe poem into a movie when I read the headline.
I had just left my sons’ school book fair, where a bought a book of Poe poems, so I thought that, as well….and I was psyched!
It’s just as well. Mark Wahlberg should never be allowed near a project based on works by E.A.P.
it’s ok. I liked panic attack better.
So this guy is a wanted person that the floaty robots are allowed to use “lethal force” to capture, but they keep letting him walk out with his hands up?
That bum with the shopping cart, though. He talks crap to the robot and it blows him away WITHOUT hesitation.
This looks perfect for Mark Wahlberg.
“Say hello to your mother for me, Flying Robot Policeman.”
awesome
Hmm…anyone catch that Mark was involved in the rebooting of “The Crow”, before Norrington left and now, Mark’s involved with, “The Raven”? lol idk, interesting.
Anyway…The 6 min, “The Raven” short is well done, and maybe there is potential there for something big, but we’ve seen alot of this kind of stuff in movies, before. However, I think the photography and VFX were nice.
What’s going on here, as in the case of Neil Blomkamp and “Alive in Joberg”/”District 9″, is that these unknown filmmakers, who set-out to make these short films, are finally, getting recognized by Hollywood and given that big break. It’s a trend we will continue to see…a short film gets noticed and soon, that short film will become, a full-length feature film.
