'Fast Five' trailer: So fast! So furious!

Fast-FiveImage Credit: Jaimie TruebloodOh holy god, people, the first trailer for Fast Five is here and it looks incredible. And by incredible, I mean fast. And by fast, I mean furious. It’s a complete compliment when I say that Fast Five looks like the ultimate Fast and the Furious movie that has ever been made and ever will be made. Besides featuring franchise stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, the film also marks the return of 2 Fast 2 Furious‘ Ludacris and Tyrese. (Also, Sung Kang’s character is in the movie, even though he died in Tokyo Drift. Incredible! Insane! Fast! Furious!) Dwayne Johnson is also in the movie, marking the second time in under a year that he’s starred in a movie with Fast in the title. Also, they’re all in Brazil. But don’t take my word for it! Watch the automotive shenanigans below:

What do you think, film fans? Sad that Eva Mendes and Lucas Black aren’t back for more fast times? If they ever do a high school reboot of the franchise, can it be called Fast Times at Furious High?

As soon as it posted on fb it spread like wildfire. Even if you’re not a fan of the series you have to respect what they’re doing for their fans. Trying to get nostalgic with the previous films by having almost all of the characters come back. That’s awesome. This is an action junkie’s dream.

But the ASIAN GUY DIED! How does he come back for another film????
This just defies ALL laws of filmmaking. It is impossible for an actor to come back IN THE SAME MOVIE when his character DIED in THE SAME MOVIE!!!
Its like when Tony Todd played TWO DIFFERENT characters on the show ’24′. He played a detective in season 3 of 24, then he played an African General in season 7. You just CANNOT DO THAT!! YOU CAN’T!! It takes ALL the realism OUT of it. This is crazy INSANE!!! It just makes the movie look like total BS!!
I will not watch this movie because now it won’t seem real. YOU CANNOT have an actor who DIED in the franchise and bring him back. YOU JUST CAN’T!! This is an insult to filmmaking and I WILL BOYCOTT THIS MOVIE!!
      This is ridiculous and OUTRAGEOUS!!

Did it occur to you that maybe this is before the 3rd movie?

      • JMB

        flashback???

      • mm

hmmmm get your facts correct before you post foolishness on here. He has not died yet! This movie will take place before TD.

      • Cameron Swanson

I remember the guy did not die. He came back in the last movie.

      • angela speed

Tokyo Drift is actually set in the “future” so the fact that the Asian actor will be in Fast Five is credible. Which also explains why Bow Wow would not be in it because he would not have met/been introduced into the Fast Family yet.

      • Cheska

        the franchise goes like this: 1, 2, 4, 5 and tokyo drift! duh wat r u 5?

      • P.C

well if you see all the movies u realize that tha 4th n 5th ones r after the second one, so the real order is The Fast and The Furious,2 Fast 2 Furious,Fast n Furious, Fast Five, n then Tokyo Drift. so it does make sence. nest time get your facts correst

      • roberto Melo

stfu u know nothing about these movies if u dont get why hes in the 5th so dont watch it because its ppl like u that know nothing but find the need to comment on shit if u dont understand it ur not a fan numb nuts i bet u dont even know cars go watch mary popins or sumthing

      • tommy

        maybe its before tokyo drift

      • Gordo

Lads, if you actually researched a little, you would know this film comes after Fast & Furious but before Tokyo Drift.

        P.C is right. Check wiki.

However, what does puzzle me is that in Fast & Furious (the fourth and most recent film), when Dom talks to Han towards the start about going they’re own way, Han suggests that he’s going to head to Jap.

Then he literally vanishes from the film after that, suggesting (to me at least) that he had made his way to Japan.

Maybe he he did, maybe he didn’t.

But it would just be lame if they seemingly brought guys like Han and even Letty back to life.

        Let it go.

      • Paola

this movie is either before TD or he faked his own death in TD and this is after. so many possibilities.

      • j

        WARNING SPOILER

HE IS A ZOMBIE U HAD TO KNOW THE TRUTH

      • dakruksta

all u ppl complainin bout the chinese guy bein in it i kno im pissed bout it to but in the beginnin of the 4th when they were goin for the gas tanks he was in one of the cars

      • Matt

Tokyo Drift is towards the end…if you watch the movie you hear Han’s girl say “didn’t you wanna go to tokyo?” he states, “we will get there”…this statement basically says Fast Five is before tokyo drift!!! its common sense watch all the movies and youll understand

    • harry

      hell yeah!!!

  • Rush

    First!

    • Rush

      Damn :( Fail.

    • Jason in Mi

  • bamalam

So…if that guy can die and come back…why not Michelle Rodriguez?

    • JD

Yeah, I wish Michelle Rodriguez could be back. I love that sexy little Latina! Rawr!

    • Cheska

han is not dead yet! this movie is supposed to take place b4 tokyo drift! duhh

      • Lexie

well if it is before tokyo drift then where is the girl he ran off with??

  • Jen

Oh my goodness. I’ve seen and liked the first one and the fourth one. I can’t believe they made another one. Looks entertaining, I’ll probably see it.

  • Chad

    I can’t believe I’m saying this but, I’m impressed.

  • Mike

I think the plot is going to be saying that this movie is a prequel to the Drift movie but takes place after the 4th. Technically, in the Tokyo Drift, when the asian guy dies and Vin Diesel shows up at the end, it does not state that it happens in the same time table as that we watched in… so I think they will pull this off..

  • Bryan

The only way the Asian guy (assuming he is the same character) could still be alive is if this movie is set before Tokyo Drift. We never get a sense of when Tokyo Drift actually is as far as the year, and the dude even says at one point that he used to roll with Vin Diesel’s character. So I guess that makes a marginal amount of sense.

  • AE

I love how everyone is being thrown off by the appearance of a character. Remember in Pulp Fiction when Vincent Vega was shot to death, but still appeared throughout the rest of the film? Sometimes things are presented in non-chronological order.

    • OXGN

AE is right, Quentin Tarantino made it like that, maybe FnF’s are maybe something like that too..

  • youraloser

    You’re an idiot journalist

  • Stan the Movie Man

Maybe, like Star Trek V, the film where the character died isn’t considered canon.

    • Evil Melvin!!

“Stan, the Movie Man”?? Explain how “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier” is similar in this case?..This I gotta hear.

  • sarah

Looks great in terms of hot men driving really cool cars. Plot? Who cares about plot as long as Vin Diesel takes his shirt off at some point and things blow up.

    • Jamie

THIS! Ungfh…Vin…effin’…Diesel! Nuff said! I could listen to him recite the phone book and get excited. LOL

  • marvin

actualy, Dwayne first Faster title movie is releasing this year , and the other titled movie Fast Five is releasing next year . FYI lol

    • Kofi

In Under a year. Under a 12 month time span.

      • Pete

But the Asian Character was also in the last movie too. In the beginning he tells Vin Diesel’s character that he is going to Tokyo because there is a new scene out there which is where Tokyo Drift comes from. So he should not be in this movie…

  • Cheska

can’t freakin’ wait anymore! i luv this series, and i can’t wait to see my man! go paul :)

  • Calatapus

DowJones straight went Insane with the comment there, calm down its a movie…. the world isn’t ending

  • P.C

    OMG
