Robert Pattinson looks like a man in the adaptation of Sara Gruen’s best-seller Water for Elephants, acting opposite Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon (the beautiful performer his character, a veterinary student in charge of caring for a traveling circus’ animals, falls for during the Depression) and Christoph Waltz (Witherspoon’s husband, the troupe’s animal trainer). Director Francis Lawrence seems to be channeling Tim Burton, and it works. The music lures you in, as does the always affecting Hal Holbrook, who plays Pattinson’s aged character recalling the story of “the most famous circus disaster of all time.” The finest compliment you can give a trailer for an adaptation is that it makes you want to read the book. This one does it for me. You?

Yes, indeed! I wanna read the book and watch the movie adaptation.
The book is magical and the move looks magical as well. I cannot WAIT to see it–I’m so glad it looks wonderful!
Water for Elephants is one of my favorite books of all time. This adaptation looks like a good film, but does not appear to be very faithful to the book.
There are major differences between the book and the script, but for the most part, they stayed true to the heart of the story.
its funny. many think that the script is better then the book. i read both, and the script is just as good. i think the biggest change is not having uncle al, but with that august gets a bigger role. so i worked out pretty good.
The only thing that I didn’t like was that there’s no old Jacob at the retirement home. I was a little disappointed in that.
I loved this book and the movie definitely looks like it’s got potential. As much as I hate to say it, Robert Pattinson might not ruin the movie, but I’ll probably be eating my words later.
Why this negetivity?
Did he ruin Edward character for you? To me he has done a good job with what he was given sofar. Especially with Edward character which is very complicated and difficult one to play.
I loved his performances in Little Ashes and Remember Me.
I am sure you won’t have to eat your own wards. Rob will do a good job.
Remember that he is a young actor who is willing to learn more. We cant simply compare him with older experienced actors.
This book is absolutely fabulous. I cannot wait for this movie.
Yay! I LOVED the book, can’t wait for the movie!
She is a beautiful Marlena, excellent casting all around.
I’m still nervous about the fact that Sean Pean dropped out of the project, and that they combined the Uncle Al/August roles for the movie, but I’m excited nonetheless.
I was really not happy when Sean backed out, but Christoph does look like he has delivered a great performance, from what little I am seeing.
what a stupid title. why not call it ‘fire for chimpanzees’ or ‘wind for the masses’ or ‘earth for boneheads’…it’s all the same. the way things are going, it wont matter, cuz in a couple of weeks patterson will reveal hes gay
Read the book, moron.
I’m blind stupid.
It’s called an audiobook… since you’re the one namecalling.
Um, guys? Bob can read your comments.
I just laughed out loud like a crazy person. Karate Pants for the win!
Here they go again….
GROW UP!
Why don’t you GROW DOWN instead!
I swear, trolls don’t even try anymore.
Hey bob, leave the troll comments for Larry David and get a life.
Oh for God’s sake, troll. Try chilling the f*ck out. lol
READ the BOOK! you ignorant.
You really are a MORON. If you read the book you would know why it has that title.
You sound so stupid.
Read the book and enjoyed it. I still think Reese is wrong for this role but I think Pattinson looks pretty good in the role, much to my surprise.
that looks amazing.
I read the book last year and it is one of my favorites. The trailer looks really good and I’m looking forward to seeing the movie.
I’m seeing potential for Reese Witherspoon to get a couple nominations for the role after reading the book and seeing the trailer. Hopefully it’s the good kind of awards, not the Razzies.
Loved the book! wow, did not see those two stars being in the movie. hmmm, maybe it will be good.
looking forward to the movie. i loved the book. im hoping the next trailer will tell a bit more of the storyline. its more then just a love story.
I agree. I am glad that they showed old Jacob a few times. But it would be nice to see somemore roustabout pieces in the next trailer.
Love it! Love it! The book was amazing, and the trailer looks really good. I am biased here because I adore Rob, but I would see this whether he was in it or not.
