Christian Bale joins Zhang Yimou's Nanjing project

Chinese director Zhang Yimou (Hero) announced at a press conference in Beijing that Christian Bale would star in his upcoming film, Nanjing Heroes, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Whenever Christian Bale is in a movie, I want to see it. He always seems to pick projects that are interesting(except maybe newsies…but he was a teenager then:). Even when the movies aren’t good, I give him points for trying different things.

I read a book about the Nanjing massacre. Very sad. I can’t wait to see this.

Maybe I’ll go ahead and consider this an unofficial companion piece to “Empire of the Sun.”
