Another new 'I Am Number Four' trailer: Young love and explosions

For anyone who’s wondered what that James Frey boy’s been up to since Oprah reamed him a new one, here’s the most impressive answer: snagging a book-to-movie deal. I Am Number Four, the Dreamworks adaptation of Frey and co-writer Jobie Hughes’ successful first installment in a proposed six-part teen book series, is set to release in February 2011, and there’s a fancy new trailer out to investigate. The story circles a hunted boy who belongs to an elect group with unusual powers (he is number four) and the regular girl he loves. English newcomer Alex Pettyfer plays the lead, while Glee‘s Dianna Agron plays his love interest. Looks like lots of angsty mystery and dramatic effects, which makes sense considering it’s directed by the guy who helmed Disturbia and produced by the guy who treasures slow motion helicopter shots at sunset. Take a look after the jump and tell us what you think.

Oh. My. God. That looks amazing! I loved the book so much and this looks even better (it might be the Alex Pettyfer looks really hot in it). Just wow.

  • Allex

“An elect group”? Don’t you mean an “elite” group?

    • T

I was thinking they meant to say “select” group but who knows. I think you’re right.

      • Jamesj

No, she used the word correctly. Look it up in a dictionary.

Wow, great movie and TallPeopleMeet was amazing

  • alex

the bald evil dude reminds me of voldemort..

    • yep

It’s supposed to. Frey said he would write a book that would be a mix of Twilight and Harry Potter and it would be uber-successful. Well, here it is.

Been looking forward to this movie. The book was pretty good but it could make an AMAZING movie if they do this right.

By casting Alex Pettyfer and Jake Able in the same movie. Yeah, I’d say they’re on the right track :)

    • e4ia

  • Chelsea

Looks good except for Dianna Argon. She can’t act. Just blankly stares and looks pretty.

    • PJ

Aww, jealous of the pretty girl are we? I’m sure you’re pretty in your own way.

  • m

    Heroes rip off

  • Dennis

    So this is Roswell?

Lucky I was a Roswell fan. I will watch this!

    • Kmb

Anyone else think Dianna Agron looks and sounds exactly like Julie Benz? If they were to remake Buffy, she could play Darla and Aubrey Plaza could play Drusilla.

      • Kathy

Good call! Although Julie Benz pronounces her ‘s’ sounds a little weirder (which I think is cool).

    • Kim

I used to love Roswell! I thought the dude that played Max was hot.

  • Michael

There is one reason I’ll be seeing this move. Dianna. Agron. Period.

  • nina

    boting..

  • leo

    yeah- timothy olyphant!

    • M

I would pay to watch Timothy Olyphant walk to the grocery store
