maybe this is just great.
Good. God.
If only.
I know things, Caleb, that would probably make you happy regarding James. But, this isn’t the time or place.
Gayer than Richard Simmons eating a Hebrew National at a pride parade, and I ain’t talkin’ about the hot dogs either.
This is definitely one of the best responses I’ve heard in a LONG time. And he’s right. Gay and straight, these have become more than sexual orientations. They’ve become labels. Social labels, political labels, cultural labels. Instead of defining a person on their sexuality, remember that behind that label is a human being. Gay, straight or in-between, we are all one human collective at the end of the day.
Gays are actually the worse when it comes to questioning a man’s sexuality. It seems that gays want to be accepted and treated equally by straight men, but as soon as a straight befriends a gay man or is comfortable around them, they (gays) question his sexuality (much more so than heteros).
You are making EXTREME broad assumptions. SOME gay men do this, and those are usually the younger gays who are either finding themselves, realizing that being gay isn’t all about hookups, and that not all heterosexuals hate them. A LOT of girls and women do this also, mostly because they want to know if he’s available so they can lust after him. Even some straight men want to know, if he is part of their crew.
Don’t make this just a one group thing. It’s something that all groups need to try to realize, all people, that we are more than a sexual label, we are all humans.
First of all if you dislike gay people then there’s something about your own sexuality that you are insecure about!! And secondly those who hate others initially hate themselves.
I’m just amazed and impressed by Franco’s complete confidence in himself. Like his willingness to go back on a Soap Opera even though he’s a respected movie star, this statement shows that when youv’e got “the goods” you have nothing to fear.
I love him so much! i hope he will win oscar
I am so sick of Entertainment Weekly being so behind on the news. James Franco has ALWAYS said this about his characters… I love the man but, this isn’t news. Sorry.
It’s a new interview and new quote that almost every media site has picked up on. Sorry Jalal.
He’s hot.
Douche.
Who? You, Lisa?
nice. what a bunch of tools for this EW. you take one part of an interview about someone and manipulate it into an attention getting/controversial headline. what a bunch of BS. franco doesn’t care, why should we? this doesn’t even need a headline feature? it just IS. seems like you’re trying to stir the pot for no reason.
Who cares?
Give the publicity to real gays. Case real gays to play gays. THe end.
And this is basically the argument James Franco is making. Identification politics. Turning people into labels instead of valuing them as human beings.
I see the point, but it should be a fact that gay actors can play straight roles, straight actors gay roles, transgendered actors play according to their gender, we shouldn’t be so focused on gay=this, straight=that. It simply solves nothing. We’re human beings above social labels.
I didn’t mind him in Freaks & Geeks but he seems so dirty and skeevy now LOL that little scruffy facial hair and sunken cheeks, and seems stoned all the time. Gay straight or bi, I could not care less. There’s so many OTHER reasons to dislike him, why pick on something like who he sleeps with? who even cares?
ummm… what? he’s one of the smartest and most likeable people in the celebrity world! Okay, I’ll admit, he used to be cuter, but he wasn’t as much of a voice a few years ago. Now he’s just… awesome. You seem to think appearances are everything.
He’s MUCH cuter now. Trust me.
news about james franco`s sexual orientation got more comments than news about Pete Postlethwaitet`s death. what`s wrong with you people?
